UPDATE 3rd July 2008: Thanks to everyone who has left a comment regarding order problems with Easybrew. It seems like they haven’t managed to turn themselves into a functioning business yet! I urge people to tell every home brewer they know not to have any dealings with Easybrew. This will save us all a lot of hassle! Now, let’s get back to some beer…
UPDATE 11th March 2008: The information contained in the following post is no longer relevant as far as my dealings with Easybrew go. My problem has been completely sorted now, as have those of other people who contacted me (as far as I know). Please see this post for further information
OK, it seems there are a lot of people out there who are having various problems with Easybrew such as non-delivery of goods, non-existent refunds etc.
Here is what I think is the best course of action.
Easybrew are based in Hampshire, so I think it would be appropriate for us to contact Trading Standards in Hampshire with regard to our problems. If you do a Google search for ‘hampshire trading standards’ you can get to this page on the Hampshire County Council website which gives the contact details for Trading Standards in Hampshire.
Details for Trading Standards

Contact:
Trading Standards
Telephone:

Email:
rsadvice@hants.gov.uk
Address:

I think what I will do is email Hampshire Trading Standards with a sort of general story telling them that I am in contact with a number of people who have had problems with Easybrew. I will suggest to them that we all send them written details of our exact problems (amounts owed, goods outstanding etc.) via post (maybe all together in one document?).
I think that in order for this to be dealt with swiftly, I will need to provide them with contact details (just an email address initially) for each of you that has a problem.
If everyone here seems to agree then I will do this by Friday of this week (29/02/2008).
Please confirm your agreement VIA EMAIL along with you preferred contact email address.

Thanks,
Graham

Comment by Graham Dinsdale March 5, 2008 @ 8:24 pmi ordered product from easybrew total cost of 62.97p,on 17th april 2008 and not got it as yet ,asked for refund on 2nd of may told it would be back in my account on tuesday 6th may,as yet no refund,do you think that i have been done,??
Comment by mr r jewitt May 7, 2008 @ 10:25 amHi Mr. Jewitt,
The 2nd of May was only last Friday, don’t forget that the weekend was a bank holiday too! Refunds/bank transfers can take 3 or 4 days so I would wait until at least the weekend (if not Monday) before kicking up a fuss.
Don’t panic though, I don’t think Easybrew are dishonest or out to rip you off, I just think that they are a bit disorganized at times.
Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.

Comment by Graham Dinsdale May 7, 2008 @ 3:33 pmhi i ordered 24 bottles and they did arrive quick but i only got 20 bottles.im not goin to bother trying to get my 4 bottles. also thebox they arrived in way terrible, had a previous address on it and was very tatty, nearly fell through.
Comment by glen May 9, 2008 @ 7:36 amOrdered corks and caps from easybrew in early April, told out of stock and would be max 7 days. Now 13th May, no delivery but money was taken and no response to request for refund.
Comment by Mat Town May 13, 2008 @ 8:49 amA company to avoid.
Glen, Mat: Thanks for posting guys.
Mat: Make sure you chase them for a refund, email the owner, Annette: annette.ferre@easybrew.co.uk
If you mention this blog (Home Brew Beer, http://grez.wordpress.com) and me (Graham) she may pay more attention…
Good luck!
Comment by Graham Dinsdale May 16, 2008 @ 3:41 pmHi, i also have had the misfortune of using easybrew before reading this thread. Placed an order on 7th May, never recieved the goods. Have been told different delivery days on 3 occassions and all failed to arrive. This company is a rip off…do not use. Have requested a refund of my 152 pounds spent. For a first timer getting into wine making, this is not the best of starts.
Comment by Adrian Neale June 4, 2008 @ 1:19 pmHi, we have also been ripped off by this company. my husband has been using them for about 18 months now.Placed order and paid for it on 28th may, still not received it .contacted them last week and they said it had been dispatched.Have rang them and spoken to a male and female, on 8 seperate occasions, who both blame each other for the delay, they promise to get back to us which obviously they haven,t. We have rang them constantly today and now get an ansamachine that won,t allow a message to be left. We have now gone to a different friendlier supplier. We still havent had our order or a refund for our order.
Comment by jan ford June 5, 2008 @ 3:49 pmOrder £52.69 on 5th May, been given 2 diff delivery dates, now phone engaged, no answer, no answerphone space and no email response
What a crap company !
Comment by Paul Padgham June 9, 2008 @ 8:20 pmOrdered a cider making kit on 13.04.08, numerous e-mails, not answered. Phoned calls not replied to then a promise of delivery on 30.-5.08, this is 12.06.08 still no cider kit, phone only taking answer machine messages that are not replied to. I have written to ask for a refund of the £75, do you think I will get it? What is going on at this company?

Pingback by Action regarding Easybrew.co.uk problems | Brew Community June 13, 2008 @ 12:59 amHi all , i have also had the misfortune of using easybrew before finding this site. Its the “no stock” issue for me.
Comment by Craig Messingham June 17, 2008 @ 8:51 amI was apparently emailed re lack of stock two weeks ago, that was news to me, only found out when I started chasing a few days ago. Have been told that the stock will take a further two weeks to arrive from supplier, then theres delivery time….. I am not willing to give them any more time and have asked for a refund. Response time to emails has been ok though, so thats a start I suppose, lets see what happens refund wise.
This has seriously screwed me up brew wise, so not a happy bunny.
Hi again.
As an update to my last post the refund arrived back in the bank today, so in all fairness easybrew have dealt with this very quickly, I hope this bodes well for those awaiting refunds.
Comment by Craig messingham June 18, 2008 @ 3:07 pmBest of luck
I’ve been in the shop several times, having seen their stock levels or lack of I would strongly advise against ordering from them. They never have half the stuff they advertise on their website.
Comment by Joe Toast June 24, 2008 @ 11:11 amMy guess is they rely on getting in sufficient orders before putting in a large order with the distributer hence the long delays.
They happen to be my local homebrew shop and i’d normally advocate supporting them but they can’t continue to treat people like this, it gives other mail order homebrew services a bad name. I’ve used several of the online shops and they manage to get the items to me within the week so it’s not normal practice to sell what isn’t in stock.
Missing items….Not answering phone calls, not replying to emails (even though read reciept confirms they have received it)…how is this company still in business?
Comment by Andy Williams June 26, 2008 @ 9:51 amI ordered about £50 of stuff about 3 weeks ago. Got an email saying 2 items were not in stock. Tried to contact them – sent a dozen emails and phoned a hundred times without any answer or reply whatsoever.
I went down there on monday and discovered:
They are ignoring all phone calls and emails. The bloke was literally standing next to the ringing phone ignoring it. Also contrary to their email they actually only had 3 of the 12 or so items in stock – so a bare faced lie on their behalf.
They gave me what they had and I told them to cancel the rest. He wrote an instruction on a bit of paper to refund me – somehow i’m sceptical that it will happen.
No matter, If I don’t get the money i’m going to sue them for it. I won’t sit back and let two bit crooks do me over
Comment by Tim Lewy July 2, 2008 @ 1:49 pmHi everyone. I’m sorry to hear about your various woes regarding orders from Easybrew. I think the best course of action anyone can take in this situation is to keep trying to contact them for a full refund. When you have your money back, don’t order from them again! Tell all your (brewing) friends.
Good luck to you all.
Graham
Comment by Graham Dinsdale July 3, 2008 @ 7:07 amHi, same problem here. They took the money quickly enough, ordered on 15th June and told items are out of stock, I asked them to cancel out of stock items and send the order. As I never received any goods I emailed them for refund but no response. I am now going to send them a letter by recorded delivery to give me a full refund or I go to Trading Standards and possibly take legal action.
Do not deal with these people.
Graham
Comment by Graham Buckby July 4, 2008 @ 9:40 amHi, same problem here. Ordered and they took my money. Then a couple of days later they told me both items were out of stock. Have been emailing them daily asking them to cancel and refund my order, but have not received any replies or a refund.
Comment by Nathaniel July 4, 2008 @ 1:03 pm62 days now still waiting……….
Comment by Paul Padgham July 6, 2008 @ 4:42 pmoh dear I have only been waiting for 14 days of phone calls and emails!!! I will be posting and urge all others to on every website out there.
Though very annoyed so may use my SEO skills to make a easybrew are rubbish type site!! After contacting trading standards.
Comment by ed July 7, 2008 @ 3:11 pmI have also had no contact and no delivery. £90 short now
Comment by Mat G July 8, 2008 @ 7:05 amI contacted their hosting providers and told them to shut their site down. They were very helpful but told me they couldnt help, but gave me the name of the company who looks after their ecommerce site, I contacted them and they have told me they are investigating. I have also raised a dispute with my credit card company and am hopeful they will refund, I urge you all to do the same.
I,m not getting any response to email’s or telephone so have now sent a letter to them giving them 10 days to pay up or I will report them to trading standards and start small claims court proceedings
Comment by Graham Buckby July 8, 2008 @ 6:22 pm65 DAYS NOW STILL WAITING !!!!!!
Called trading standards and still waiting for them to call me back
Who do you report a problem with Trading Standards to ????
Comment by Paul Padgham July 9, 2008 @ 12:59 pmDear All
I am sorry you have had problems with your orders with us. Unfortunately, I have been suffering ill health and have been away from the shop for a while. I am now back part time and am hopeful that we can sort everything out in the next 2-3 weeks. For those that have placed comments here I have resolved and refunded as many as I am able where I have been able to find your orders from the details you have given here. You will already have received emails confirming the refunds.
The only 2 I cannot find as there are insufficient details in your comment are Ed and Nathaniel. If you could contact me on my personal email – annette.ferre@btopenworld.com I will deal with your issues straight away.
Once again, I am sorry for the problems you have experienced and I am working to sort everything out.

Comment by Graham Buckby July 12, 2008 @ 7:43 pmI am hoping I can get my problem resolved. Money taken very promptly, but no goods have arrived. To try and find out about my order, I have phoned countless times to no answer, and sent several emails. No response. Am really dissappointed, and can honestly say I have never experienced problems like this before. Have emailed Annette Ferre on home address above and am hoping this can be resolved. Site should be shut down temporarily in my opinion, so that no one else loses any money and is caused unnecessary anxiety.
Comment by claire July 13, 2008 @ 8:39 pmClaire
Just to say that I have been refunded in full. Thankyou for sorting it out Annette
Comment by Mat G July 14, 2008 @ 7:38 amI ordered originally in March after many days and weeks of telephoning and emailing i eventually received some of my order late April(they said i would receive the rest of my order in 7 days as they had supplier problems)I still have about £23 of my order outstanding and have been emailing and telephoning ever since still had no response. I would advise not to go near this company as they are a disgrace. I will be speaking with trading standards re them and hopefully i will be taking them to the small claims court as this seems the only way to get your money back.
Comment by carl clough July 14, 2008 @ 3:55 pmFirst post to this blog and I’m experiencing the same issues as other people here. Order placed to the value of £113.90 with NotSoEasyBrew on May the 10th. Not one item has been delivered so far and despite repeated emails to Annette not one response has been received. It would seem the only way to get a resolution is post to this blog which I didn’t want to do but I now have to.
Annette, I appreciate that you have been ill and you are only back to work part time but in reality your website should only be active if there is someone to process orders and respond to enquiries. This blog will probably only have posts from a percentage of the customers that are having difficulty. Hopefully this post will result in some form of contact from you. Your company was recently mentioned in the Guardian supplement as a supplier of homebrew equipment and if I do not either receive the goods or a refund soon I will be forced to contact them and complain about their recommendation with a view to retracting in publicly in one of their upcoming supplements.
Best Regards,
Andrew Madigan.
Comment by Andrew Madigan July 15, 2008 @ 12:31 pmI heartily endorse all the above warnings about easybrew, they have had my money now since the 2nd of june,They did send one item at the beginning of july with the promise that new stock was expected next day, needless to say I have received Zilch since. on the rare occasions that they have answerd the telephone I get fobbed off with lies and promises to phone me back ,which never happen. I think it will have to be the small claims court and trading standards route for me as well. God bless AOB
Comment by David Neal July 15, 2008 @ 1:28 pmClaire and Carl full refunds as requested.
Mr Neal I have been unable to locate your order on our system (was it an internet or telephone order>). If you could email me at annette.ferre@btopenworld.com I will sort this out for you.
Annette
Comment by Annette Ferre July 15, 2008 @ 2:09 pmEasyBrew
Thanks Annette for trying to sort everyone out. It does look like you’re trying. Can people please post back here when they have been sorted out, so that we know what progress is being made?
Thanks,
Graham
Comment by Graham Dinsdale July 15, 2008 @ 3:08 pmJust to let you know that have been sent a confirmation that a refund will be issued. Someone did eventully answer the phone, though got an email back from Annette also, which I do appreciate. That does demonstrate some understanding of how a business should be run and I am sorry for any personal difficulties you may be having. However, I do feel the company should halt trading until problems can be rectified. It is only through finding this blog, that I had any idea who to contact. I believe I was very lucky that someone did indeed answer the phone yesterday! I feel at least that some statement needs to be made on your website, or at least that alternative contact details are made clear. Otherwise a feeling of dishonest trading may linger, which surely is only to the detriment of your company. Annette, I do appreciate your efforts in my case, and perhaps every order made, not simply the ones highlighted here, need the same attention.

Pingback by | Brew Community July 16, 2008 @ 6:25 amThanks for leaving this thread live. I wish that I had seen it before I placed my order with Easybrew. I ordered products on 16th June and although the money was taken from my bank account straight away have not received my goods or any response to my emails and phone messages.
You are probably fed up of hearing this by now but as you have at least received some contact from the company – I thought that I would add my name to the list.
They are now advertising special offers on the website to get more orders in. If they are taking money straight away and not delivering the goods for months then it is definitely a Trading Standards issue.
I wish everyone a speedy resolution including myself!
Comment by Amber Heavisides July 21, 2008 @ 8:50 amI ordered and had money deducted from my account on July 4. I have received no acknowledgement of the items ordered, although they say one has been sent. I cancelled my order, via email on July 17, and after no acknowledgement sent another email, confirming the cancellation and asking for acknowledgement and a refund. Needless to say, no response has been forthcoming.
As advised by the Consumer Direct website I have today sent a recorded delivery letter saying I want a response and refund within 14 days of date of first cancellation email.
Needless to say I shall have no hesitation in taking this matter further should the refund not be forthcoming.
I wish everyone success in regaining their monies, but have my doubts as to the viability of the company. It had crossed my mind there was something not quite right when no one would answer my emails/calls.
Although Annette Fere may do everything she can to put matters right after the event – there does seem to be an element of dishonesty in their trading.
Comment by S Gainsborough July 22, 2008 @ 4:59 pmMy chq was cashed 2/6 still waiting for goods although already sent twice and now can’t get a refund. I only found out about this website yesterday after warning to start such a website. My order was for relativly small amount but it is the principle of paying your money and not gettting your goods or a refund. DO NOT BUY OFF THIS COMPANY. I hope Annette sees this and i get my refund
Comment by JULIE ANKERS July 23, 2008 @ 9:35 amI have a very bad fealing that this company has either gone pear shaped, or has no customer service at all. I have been waiting for an order to be sent for over £200 worth of items from 3 weeks ago. I was fobbed off last week when I called with a promise that it would be dispatched this week. Their phone message (second day in a row) now says they are closed and to call back tomorrow.
Comment by Jim July 25, 2008 @ 12:15 pmI too am having the same problem, order placed 7th June, money taken 7th June, then nothing. Did receive one email in response to emailing them on teh 18th June saying items were out of stock but they would refund me if I wished.
Over a month later and STILL no refund, no goods (which I no longer require anyway as I had to go elsewhere). STILL no response to my emails and STILL no one answers the phone. I have put in a complaint to trading standards (08454040506) and will pursue the matter further.
I concur most heartily with the above DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Comment by rowan fox July 25, 2008 @ 12:21 pmThanks Rowan
I have just emailed Hampshire Trading Standards to see if they have an update on the status of the company. If they are still trading then I will not hesitate to kick off a small claims action if needed.
In the mean time, I still need to get ready for cider brewing, and therefore need some kit. My apples are looking ready to drop !!!
Comment by Jim July 25, 2008 @ 12:55 pmAny recommendations on a good on-line company to use??
Hi Everyone
Comment by Maciek July 25, 2008 @ 1:00 pmI’ve ordered some stuff from this shop 11 of July and still no response on either an email or phone calls. Is anyone has some updates about this shop. Im thinking to put a claim against them as well.
I ordered £68.95 worth of stuffon 5th June 2008 and received an email saying it was out of stock on 13th June 2008. I have emailed them 3 times and rang twice, just rang about 1.30pm and they still have an answer phone message from 23rd July on there saying “email support@easybrew.co.uk an we will get back to you in the morning”.
Not impressed.
Paul
Comment by Paul Jacques July 25, 2008 @ 1:22 pmHi guys,
Sorry to hear about your problems, I hope you all get goods or refunds soon!
If you are looking for another homebrew supplier, try the Hop & Grape. They deliver quickly and have very good communication.
Graham
Comment by Graham Dinsdale July 25, 2008 @ 2:23 pmI placed an order on 5th May and have experienced the same problems as everyone else, receiving only a small part of my order after a large delay. I requested a refund for the difference over the phone on 15th July, which I immediately backed up with an email the same day, and a further request by email on 22nd. Refund is yet to materialise though.
Comment by Phil Stewart July 27, 2008 @ 12:16 pmI placed an order on 2nd July and my accunt was debited almost immediately. Have emailed with no response. Have phoned and got the same recorded message from 23rd July.
Am now demanding a refund – still no response. Why is their website and billing system still active, when they are not?
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE
Comment by Joseph Stainton July 28, 2008 @ 10:58 amI placed an order on the 4th of July. Have received nothing. Have contacted Easybrew countless times and have had no reply.

Comment by David Neal July 28, 2008 @ 3:12 pmexcuses, very slow to deliver.scroll back to their answer to my last posting and it would seem that they are keen to sort out these difficulties, however despite my emailing, as requested, not a word. They have been given the order once by mail, twice by phone, and twice by email and still they say they cant find the order. there are plenty of good suppliers on the internet, give this bunch a miss, at least until Hell freezes.
I got no responses for about a month, but Graham pointed out annette’s home email – annette.ferre@btopenworld.com – to which she did indeed reply fairly quickly giving me a refund. Needless to say I shan’t be purchasing from them again!
Comment by mark July 28, 2008 @ 3:51 pmI wish i came across this before getting involved with Easybrew, I have given up trying to contact them via email, phone, fax for a while now, no response. I will contact trading standards and I’ll try to contact Google as they are still advertising with them. I’d recommend trying another company!
Comment by Alan Morris August 4, 2008 @ 11:05 amRang Easybrew this morning regarding an order I placed on 5th June and amazingly I got through. Comment by Paul Jacques August 4, 2008 @ 2:19 pmDear All
I am extremely sorry for those of you that have been inconvenienced recently by EasyBrew.
I am now back at work full time and the shop is once again open from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm as of tomorrow – Tuesday 5th August.
We will be endeavouring to sort out everyone’s outstanding orders and queries as quickly as possible as we are in the process of restocking the shop and warehouse. Within the next 10 days all outstanding orders will be despatched. By way of apology for the delays we will be including some bits and pieces free of charge to everyone.
If you require a refund please contact me at annette.ferre@btopenworld.com (my personal email) and I will deal with it straight away.
Once again, please accept my apologies for the inconveniences you have experienced and I hope to have everything sorted out asap.

Pingback by EasyBrew is a crock of crap « Homebrew Experiment August 5, 2008 @ 1:39 pmWell one and all,
I can only empathize with your woes here, I too
am in the same predicament, ordered on the 18th
of July, and have been ignored via the ‘customer
support’, and unable to speak to anyone on the
telephone. I am attempting to get a chargeback by
HSBC investigating the transaction, and have been
onto trading standards like many of you. I am going to take this to small claims court unless
I am refunded today (I sent a recorded delivery letter asking for a refund, and today is the deadline). It is a matter of principle to me, so that other unfortunate customers don’t suffer the frustrations that we have! Caveat Emptor guys, let the buyer beware, I have deemed some small comfort by dubbing the company ’sleazybrew’, which somehow seems more fitting…

Hi,
Will Brazier-Smith here just updating with confirmation that I have been refunded, and the
annette.ferre@btopenworld.com did yield quick
results, an apology, plus an offer of a 10% discount as well. Clearly Easybrew is not a dishonest company, just a company having a few
difficulties.
Cheers,

Same sort of thing here, have emailed the woman directly so hope to get refunded soon. It is not a large sum but I hate getting messed about.
Comment by Andrew Parker August 8, 2008 @ 8:28 amPeople on here are very reasonable and forgiving by the way. Graham, are you trying to get a date? (wink!)
On May 28th 2008, I paid for my EasyBrew goods with good experience of Easy Brew in the past.
After six weeks, nothing had arrived. I had already called them several times and e-mailed, but still nothing. I finally got through to Annette on 21st July, who said my stuff was out-of-stock, but would send alternative kits THAT DAY. Its now August 8th and still nothing has arrived.
After still trying, leaving messages on the answerphone, still no reply. As such, I had no option but to call trading standards.
I have e-mailed Annette at the btopenworld address above today for my stuff or a refund. I don’t expect I’ll get a reply.
This is one of the worst experiences I have had with an on-line company. A total shambles. Illness is acceptable, but why continue to run a web site if you can’t deliver the goods? Its like stealing money from a child’s money box.
hopandgrape.co.uk are a MILLION times better. Use them. Friendly and reliable.

I hope your business recovers from this, and your health has improved.
Comment by Noe Purdie August 9, 2008 @ 1:31 pmHi. I too have been waitng for my order for wine kits since 25th May. Was able to speak to annette this week and she seemed very helpful and has assured me I will receive my 4 belvino wine kits by mid next week as they were due to receive the stock yesterday ( Friday ).
Comment by Tracey Chapman August 9, 2008 @ 9:02 pmI have only just read all these comments so wasn’t aware of all these complaints. I am keeping the faith that my order will arrive before next Saturday ( a week today) when I have to depart to foreign shores where alcohol is strictly forbidden ! Watch this space .
Hooray! I finally got my refund from EasyBrew today of 35.98 and an apology from Annette.
Apology accepted. But I can’t see myself using EasyBrew again.
If, like me and others on this web site, you live in a “hot and dry” country where wine kits are ESSENTIAL for any kind of social life, waiting eight weeks for a non-delivery here in the UK is a complete death blow for any kind of social life in a dustbowl.
EasyBrew really need to get their web site in order. If they don’t stock things, the web site must clearly state “OUT OF STOCK.”
This is not rocket science, simply good honest business practice.
Comment by David Gibbs August 11, 2008 @ 11:51 amMan alive, Is this the queue for easybrew to come and find the most urgent orders that need sorting out. Yes I’ve been stung too. Keep this thread live we need to know how this ends. I’ll keep it posted on my end of things. Again, Watch this space. :/
Comment by Owen Kebbell August 11, 2008 @ 5:50 pmMy refund was apparently posted last friday, still not received. Will let you know if it appears
Comment by JULIE ANKERS August 12, 2008 @ 9:54 amHello fellow sufferers
Comment by Kevin Borthwick August 13, 2008 @ 10:09 pmI am yet another casualty of Easybrew. My wife placed our order on 19th July, but nothing has been received. I have phoned and e-mailed numerous times. After finding this website and reading about everyones problems, I decided to place an order with http://WWW.Hopshopuk.COM, full order received in 3 days. I have demanded a full refund from Easybrew and if not received by 19th august, I will instigate legal proceedings againt them.
Hey. Whaddayaknow.
Comment by Owen Kebbell August 14, 2008 @ 11:21 amAs soon as I posted on here I got an e-mail with a receipt for my refund which went in the bank 2 days later. My problems don’t end here however. In the meantime I placed another order with http://www.brew-it-yourself.co.uk, and within the order the 2 tins of tom caxton look like they’ve been run over by the dhl van. Here we go again, lets see what they say. Good luck folks.
I have just found this web-site & my heart has sank! I placed an order with Easy Brew on 7th August for £105. It was supposed to be a wedding anniversary gift for my husband but it hasnt arrived as expected. I called & spoke to someone at Easy Brew, presumably Annette who told me they were waiting for one part of the order & it will be dispatched in the next few days. Having read this I am not too confident of that happening. I have emailed her home email address as given above & am hoping to get my money back. What a swizz they sound, how are they still trading & taking peoples money with this track record? I am sorry if she has been ill but that is not really her customers problem. I want my goods or my money back!
Comment by Claire King August 14, 2008 @ 3:40 pmYep they are a total shower, your stuff doesn’t arrive, they take your money and tell you it’s on it’s way. They have your money for weeks.
Comment by Bob August 14, 2008 @ 10:53 pmI’m dealing with http://www.thebrewshop.com now.
I get my stuff next day. If they make a mistake it’s sorted out really quick as well.
Bob
Hi, I got confirmation from Annette last night that my money has been refunded. I recommend that everyone emails her home address as given above as she responded really promptly. Thanks to all of you for your advice & I hope everyone gets their goods or their money back very soon.
Comment by Claire King August 15, 2008 @ 8:12 amI have received my refund plus compensation today by recorded post after 1st chq never arrived. I was also offered a 10% discount on my next order (I don’t think that i will be using it though). It seems the best way is to contact Annette via her personnal e-mail. Hope you all have the same sucess eventually.
Comment by JULIE ANKERS August 15, 2008 @ 2:16 pmoh dear, so much for empty assurances. Have beeen waiting very patiently ( or stupidly ) since 25th May and posted on this web site last Saturday to report that a very helpful Annette was assuring me that my belvino kits would get to me by mid week. She even called me mid week to say stock had arrived that previous evening and was being sent out that morning ( Wednesday ).Arrival by delivery van would be following day. Of course I waited “in good faith” Thursday and now today Friday. Tried calling today, answer machine on ( surprise surprise ). Now I’m going back to a dust hell hole with no alcohol and am really pissed I didn’t use one of these other RELIABLE web sites for brewing instead of being strung along by some one who seems to be stalling ( i,e, bullshitting ) I see it does not pay to be polite and patient, you don’t get anywhere. Better to rant ( rightly so ) about bad treatment, refunds and legal action. I see it does not pay to keep faith with people like this who are full of empty words. Very disappointed. Tracey Chapman

Comment by Al Roberts August 15, 2008 @ 8:59 pmIf you are in Kuwait you could use
http://www.thebrewshopuk.com who will post stuff to the dry countries for you!
Ha! Wish I’d discovered them earlier!

im still waiting on my order from30/07/08 payment taken next day ,nearly 3 weeks on ,,guess what no delivery,,phoned emailed ,faxed, just at my wits end ,its my worst ever on line ordering experience, always an answering machine on ,spent £57 ,asked for refund via email ,but no reply.i just want my money back now from easybrew.co.uk,,hope you all get results soon DARREN WEDGE ,DUMMFRIES
Comment by darren wedge August 15, 2008 @ 10:03 pmTracey I have only just seen your post here. Your order was despatched as promised, with 2 free kits with my compliments by way of apology.
Comment by Annette Ferre August 15, 2008 @ 11:59 pmDarren I have received your email this evening and responded to you.
Comment by Annette Ferre August 16, 2008 @ 12:00 amFull refund and apology received. Thank god for this forum !!!
Comment by Kevin Borthwick August 16, 2008 @ 10:50 amI have just come accross this forum after frustratingly googling easybrew due to non reply to order chasing emails and no answer on the telephone.
I am shocked an appalled that a company is allowed to behave in this way – I ordered a wine making kit on 28th July for my dad for his birthday which was on the 31st July – I am still waiting for this to be delivered which as we ar enow in the middle of August – is totally unacceptable. What makes the matter worse is the fact that you never ever get a reply from the support email address
Annette – if you are reading this forum – why on earth are you not replying to your business emails? I would like a full refund of the £35 to my card please otherwise I too will be initiating legal proceedings, its not the matter of money of £35 to me – it is the principle that you are taking everyones cash with no ability or infrastructure to be able to deliver. That is illegal under the sale of goods act and if by taking you to court – I stop everyone else falling foul to this then I will for go the £35
Thanks
Sophie Garrington. Order EBO-0000001973
Comment by Sophie Garrington August 18, 2008 @ 11:14 amHi I feel sick reading these comments. I placed an order worth £120.00 on the 7th August. I have tried ringing them today but the phone either rings out or it is engaged. I have tried emailing but have received no response. I really don’t know what to do. This is suppose to be a surprise birthday present for my husband.
Comment by Karen Young August 18, 2008 @ 6:48 pmThis is a complete disgrace, it would appear these people are not what they seem. I too placed an order, for £94 on Aug 2nd and despite emails appologising and promising delivery I have yet to receive anything. My phone calls are never answered. How are these people still trading? anyone want to get together and take this to court? if we co-ordinate our efforts we can get real results and since I work for a national newspaper we may be able to publicise this and ensure they can’t sucker anyone else.
Comment by Andrew Boxer August 18, 2008 @ 10:08 pmYes definitely count me in. I am absolutely devastated by all this. I do a lot of online shopping and I have never come across anything like this before. They are a total disgrace.
Comment by Karen Young August 19, 2008 @ 8:29 amHi everyone,
As usual, I’m sorry to hear of your troubles with Easybrew. The best way to resolve your problems seems to be to email the proprietor Anette Ferre on her personal email address: annette.ferre@btopenworld.com. She seems to respond fairly quickly to messages on that address.
Please post back here when you have your problem resolved. I’d like to hear some good news for a change…
Good luck!
Graham Home Brew Beer
Comment by Graham Dinsdale August 19, 2008 @ 9:02 amI thought my order was going to be resolved when I got an immediate response from Annette on 6th August from an email to her personally, but still have no goods. I ordered on 1st July (EBO 1604)and I see above from Sophie who ordered on 28th July that her order No. was 1973. That’s 369 more orders in 4 weeks. How many are lost to date? It looks a good business to take over! But we’ve got to get our goods or money back first. I’ve posted this now as this seems to help and will try one more email before taking “Small Claims” action and/or contact my credit card company….which is best?
Comment by Michael Stevens August 19, 2008 @ 3:12 pmJoy o joy, My Order finaly arrived today, my cup runeth over,or will when I get these kits made up.
Comment by David Neal August 19, 2008 @ 7:30 pmhang on in there comrades, tenacity WILL win out in the end.
A note to keep everyone updated. All queries here have been responded to.
Additionally, we have taken on an extra person in the warehouse so we can get more orders despatched every day. We are also receiving orders in every day from our suppliers.
I am also in the process of responding to all emails/queries we have received and advising everyone who has an outstanding order exactly when their order will be despatched to them.
I am confident that within the next 7 days we will have completely caught up with all outstanding orders. And we are working 6 days a week.
I have also put in place systems to ensure that this does not happen again.
By way of apology to everyone who has a delayed order I am enclosing brewing items with my compliments.
I can now be contacted on annette.ferre@easbrew.co.uk and will respond to your query.
Comment by Annette Ferre August 20, 2008 @ 1:28 amI received confirmation of my refund today and being a little sceptical I rang the card transaction company and they confirmed the refund is in process. I am now prepared to believe that these people are trying to build and maintain a business of some kind and judging by the lateness of Annettes post above they may well be trying hard. All I can say is stand firm folkes and be prepared to take court action if you do not get a resolution. I for one will never attempt to use this company again.
Comment by Andrew Boxer August 20, 2008 @ 8:40 amGood luck folkes and remember once burnt twice shy.
I also received my full refund today. I agree they do seem to be trying hard to get their business back on track but only time will tell. I’m not taking any chances though I have decided to take my custom elsewhere
Comment by Karen Young August 20, 2008 @ 7:24 pmI posted on August 9th, apologzing for emailing before I had fiished reading thread. I felt bad for your circumstances, recovering your business from an illness. I hope you are bouncing back from these circumstances and I hope your business recovers from this situation. It would seem he who yells the loudest is getting sorted. YELL!!
Cheers in advance for sorting me.
Comment by Noe Purdie August 21, 2008 @ 1:37 amEBO: 1112
Oh dear. I have a considerable order outstanding from the end of May. Lot’s of excuses, no replies and the rest.
I think it is outrageous that Annette is continuing to trade – she should shut down, get herself sorted and then re-open. She’s save herself a lot of stress and reputation.
I’ve complained to trading standards, sent the registered post letter demanding fulfillment or refund – and still nothing. I guess it’s court action next.
Comment by Simon August 21, 2008 @ 9:19 amI too have an order outstanding from the 29th July. Have e-mailed and phoned on numerous occassions. Frustrating that no-one has the decency to answer and give reasons for the delays. I am fed up of waiting now, just want a refund.
Comment by Erminia Bissett August 22, 2008 @ 2:00 pmOn 15 Jul, 2008 at 11:26 a.m. I placed an order with easybrew.co.uk for (GBP) £31.71.
Comment by Simon Lewis August 26, 2008 @ 2:56 pmOn the 29th of July I still hadn’t received the order even though the money had been taken from my account on the 16th (13 days earlier) I phoned the company to complain and the phone was answered by a woman who claimed that illness had stopped orders from shipping but mine was ready to go today. (Some coincidence huh?) I explained that I no longer wished to shop with them and demanded a refund on my purchase.
To date( 26th August , 6 weeks after my original order! ) that refund has not arrived.
I leave you to draw your own conclusions as to whether this is a reputable company, I know I will never use them again.
I’ve contacted them again and explained that I’m starting a small-claims procedure against them. Let’s see if that works.
For those posting above. Simon as discussed by email your order will be delivered to you tomorrow.
Erminia as requested a full refund has been done today and you have an email confirmation.
Simon as per your email request a full refund has been done and you have an email confirmation.
Comment by Annette Ferre August 26, 2008 @ 3:29 pmI to have had problems with an order placed several months ago. I had to chase after several excuses about waiting for stock. Now waiting for delivery of a final outstanding item worth 34.99. At first the website contact emails were all bounced as invalid, then they worked but nobody responds. Telephone calls likewise, promises to respond go unfulfilled. It is a shame to have to resort to blogs like this but I play fair in my delaings, all I want is the same kind of treatment from those I do business with.

ordered a wine kit on 8th aug and received promptly so ordered a cider starter kit, for a friend 6 days later and still waiting-looking like fools! what a joke of a company!!
Comment by sarah August 28, 2008 @ 12:00 amEBO 1112
I can’t work out if Annette is incompetent and useless or a liar. I fear the latter – there is a gross inconsistency with her excuses. She comments above that my order has been despatched – well I’ve not received it yet.
Simon Lewis – are you interested in a joint action? I know nothing about raising small claims actions – I’m sure the stress outweighs the benefits – but it’s the principal eh!
Comment by Simon August 28, 2008 @ 8:37 amJust found this discussion, looks like I’m not the only one having problems
Comment by Chris Perkins August 28, 2008 @ 10:44 amPlaced an order on August 11th, phone is either busy or just rings & rings. No reply to e-mail or the contact form on the website.
30th of June the first order placed with Easybrew, I have tried to contact the company many times with no reply or response at all. I have today asked for my money back under Consumer Protection law. I will let you know how long it takes to get my money back thats if I get it back at all..
Comment by Bruce Watt August 28, 2008 @ 1:23 pmAfter sending an email direct to Annette at her private email address, I received an email within an hour promising a delivery the next day. I am happy to say that a parcel is waiting for me at home. Clearly there is an attempt to sort out issues. However, this comes after a trail of broken promises to for action previously. Thankyou Annette for sorting this out finally. It sounds like things have got a little out of control while you have been I’ll and not 100% focussed. It sounds like you need some technical help to get your support email sytem working. It has been very frustrating to not have an effective means of communication. It is not good business practice to have people getting to the point of frustation where they resort to searching the net for posts about your company and only then find a contact address that works. Your support email address needs to be working. Here’s hoping everybody gets sorted out.
Comment by David Raine August 28, 2008 @ 10:04 pmThanks to Graham

Comment by David Raine August 28, 2008 @ 10:06 pmAnd just think, Dr Beeching thought the railways were a bloody shambles ………….
Comment by K Sturgess August 29, 2008 @ 2:00 amWe ordered £71 worth on 23 July and, like everyone else, have been waiting ever since. 50+ phone calls, either engaged or constantly ringing (obviously with some nurd standing beside it). Actually spoke to Annette on 21 Aug and was promised delivery on 22nd or 26th Aug – surprise, surprise, still confined to barracks waiting for order to arrive! Can someone please shut down their website as they are obviously trading illegally – taking money for goods that are not available and banking it in the meantime for whatever interest they can get. Have also now contacted Annette on her personal e-mail asking for immediate delivery or refund plus compensation for phone calls and interest on my funds – watch this space ………
Comment by K Sturgess August 29, 2008 @ 2:06 amOrdered £50 of goods on 24 Jul, money taken still no goods. Did manage to speak to someone 3 weeks ago who promised my order was on it’s way, still no goods. Emailed last week with a formal request for refund to both email adresses, no reply and no refund !
All in all this company appears to be trading insolvent, I have notified companies house and according to their website accounts are 8 months late for this year.
Trading standards have been informed and I have started legal proceedings this morning in the small claims court.
I know it’s going to cost me more that I’m owed but this should not be allowed to continue.
I have also contacted the ISP who hosts the site and made a formal request that the site be shut down as it is trading in what appears to be an illegal manner !
I’ll keep you all posted.
Comment by Chris Kilner August 29, 2008 @ 9:20 amThanks to everyone for their comments, particularly those of you who have had a successful outcome to your troubles!
Chris Kilner: Good luck with your small claims court action. I have also checked company profile info for Easybrew, they are late in filing accounts and their status is recorded as “Striking Off Notice”. This means that the company may be dissolved by the Registrar of Companies. Feel free to send a link to the ISP of this comment thread as evidence.

Comment by Graham Dinsdale August 29, 2008 @ 11:13 amJust a note to keep you all updated.
We are working through the backlog as quickly as possible. With the extra staff in the warehouse we are making great inroads into it. As queries come in by email we are responding to them as quickly as possible.
We are still receiving stock in every day from our suppliers and working 6 days a week to catch up.
For those who have left comments here, I understand your frustration and apologise sincerely, and we are doing everything we can to get sorted within the next few days.
Sarah – as per our conversation yesterday your order will be delivered to you on Monday with an additional kit free of charge.
Simon – I am posting this message from home and can’t access the consignment details from here but will do so in the morning as it should have been delivered to you by now. I had explained that there was a supply problem with the barrels and we have despatched with a much more expensive barrel at no additional charge. I will contact you on Saturday.
K Sturgess – as requested in your email today you have received a full refund.
Chris Kilner – as per your email today you have received a full refund.
We do not, and never have traded as EasyBrew Ltd, this was set up some time ago but never used. We have decided to dissolve the limited company and this has nothing to do with the problems we have experienced recently.
The problems are entirely down to my recent ill health. Whilst, I am completely aware that this should not have affected our service to our customers and it is not something I wished to broadcast, the reason for these delays is that I suffered a late pregnancy miscarriage and was unable to work without any notice.
We are all now working longer hours in an attempt to catch up as soon as possible.
I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience you have been caused due to this.

Comment by darren wedge August 30, 2008 @ 5:28 pmHmm. Made an order on the 19th. Was told on the 21st there was an item out of stock. After emailing back asking for a substitute for that item I received an email on the 27th saying the item was back in stock and would be disptached the next day on a next working day delivery service. Still no sign of the goods. No-one ever answers the number given. Wish I had found this blog earlier (thanks to Graham for setting this up). Although there does seem to have been some movement from Annette recently I do have my concerns. I will let you know how my order progreses.
Comment by alastair bravey September 2, 2008 @ 1:49 pmi placed an order on 11th june told items were out of stock on 16th june and back in stock within 21 days, my last dealings with easy brew were slow which i didn’t mind as the goods came through eventally, but this time i could get no reply through e-mail or telephone, i dont mind it getting here late so long as i know. today 2/9/08 i tried but no response so i have filled out a claim to get a refund through my credit card which i have just posted, sorry to hear about your ill health Annette and hope you get better, the internet site looks as though it could have been a winner, maybe still can, i wish i could generate a web site with this high a profile, only just found this blog as i wondered if anyone else was having trouble, seems they are.
Comment by mark webber September 2, 2008 @ 2:59 pmhope you get back on your feet soon.

I Quote ” Your order was despatched as promised with 2 free kits with my way of apology “…..
Comment by Tracey Chapman September 2, 2008 @ 8:50 pmNot strictly true and worded misleadingly. 2 Free kits received. 4 ordered kits not received. (In stock then out of stock )… And no, there was no card put through door to say no one at home to collect package of 4( out of stock )wine kits ,as mentioned in your private e.mail.
Annette emailed me last night to say that my order would be dispatched today, as stated in her reply to this blog. WIll keep you updated.
Comment by alastair September 3, 2008 @ 7:39 pmI have just checked my statement and my money of over £50 paid out in May was refunded by Annette on the 16th August. Many thanks.
Comment by Tracey Chapman September 4, 2008 @ 3:00 pmSorry to post here but cannot find any other way of contacting EasyBrew. Ordered on 18/08/08 got hold of somebody 29/08/08 who said the order had been dispatched and would be with me on 01/09/08, still not arrived sent emails but got no reply. Have sent an mail today as no longer get through on the phone to cancel order and get refund as have ordered from another supplier, also have informed my credit card company to get a refund if they do not. Order number is EBO-0000002302
Thanks Paul
Comment by Paul September 5, 2008 @ 11:19 amRefund now received via bank. Order placed online, tracking available – goods received today from
http://www.brew-it-yourself.co.uk
Their website is an absolute joy to use and we now realise what an awful service we have been getting all this time from Easybrew, even before the current problems ………… Just glad we did a search and found this forum – Cheers
Comment by K STURGESS September 6, 2008 @ 4:25 amI had terrible trouble with easybrew.co.uk. I wouldn’t recommend using them. They didn’t notify me that my order wasn’t in stock, they rarely answer their phone, they made promises about when my order would be shipped but still failed to deliver.
To their credit when I had finally got through to them to ask for my money back it was in my bank account after two days.
I would recommend anyone thinking of using them to avoid the hastle I had and to try http://www.art-of-brewing.co.uk inside – free postage on orders over £49, my order arrived two days later.
Comment by Iain September 7, 2008 @ 1:54 pmI also wish I’d seen this thread before ordering!
I’ve tried countless ‘phone calls, to get an update on my order, only to get the constant ring or engaged tone.
I have now sent an e-mail from the comments page as well as to Annette’s address (as shown above)and hopefully will hear something back from them.
Obviously Annette’s personal conditions are unfortunate, however they should not be continuing to accept orders they cannot fulfil.
Comment by Chris Hatton September 8, 2008 @ 3:48 pmJust an update. Although an email was received from Annette on the 3rd to say the order was being dispatched there was nothing in the email to say only part of my order was being dispatched. So I was fairly hacked off to get a partial order delivered today with a note to say the otehr items would be dispatched in the next 10 to 14 days (due to ’supplier problems’).
Not impressed. I was hoping that Annettes emails & responses to this blog were indicative of someone trying to resolve their problems, not compound them.
Comment by alastair September 10, 2008 @ 1:13 pmi would recommend you contact trading standards regarding easybrew, they are very aware of them
Comment by andy September 10, 2008 @ 2:59 pmI to ordered from easybrew on 18th Aug, i was promised i would recieve the items by 30th Aug that was the one call out of 100 that i got through. still nothing, left e-mails, voice mails when i could, NOTHING, if you read this easybrew please check order 2307, and get in touch.
Comment by martin September 11, 2008 @ 4:30 pmFolkes,
Just to say that these folkes at Easybrew should be avoided at all costs, I did get a refund but only because I shouted loudly, so complain complain complain.
Comment by Andy September 12, 2008 @ 9:35 amJust for reference I now use hopandgrape dot co dot uk, very good selection of products, excellent service, reasonable prices.
Good luck to everyone still having problems.

Comment by Martin September 12, 2008 @ 3:51 pmi HAVE ORDERED SUGAR IN WITH MY ORDER, IT MUST BE OUT OF DATE BY NOW,
Comment by Martin September 12, 2008 @ 3:53 pmI cannot believe I have only just found this site! I made a small order on 23rd May, my money was taken promptly and all I have received so far is an email on 27th May stating there is a small delay in my order. Phone calls have not been answered. The same with follow up emails so far to support@easybrew.co.uk. I feel lucky compared to some of the folk on this but still pretty peeved overall. I will follow up with the email addresses mentioned on this site and failing that go to trading standards.
Comment by James W September 15, 2008 @ 9:22 pmamazing same story as everyonr else placed an order last week and have herd nothing as to how my order is getting on after finding this site i have instructed my credit card company to retrive the payment this is the third time i have used easybrew the first two times i had problems but at least someone answered the phone and sorted the issues out i think i will be using brewityourself.co.uk from now on
Comment by dan September 17, 2008 @ 1:12 pmI have just a received the following e-mail from Anette:
“I am extremely sorry there has been a delay on your order being despatched. Our records show that on 7th September we emailed you to advise there would be a 14 day delay as we were out of stock of several items on your order.
However, as requested I have today provided a full refund and a copy of the confirmation is below for your records”
Interestingly, I have not received the “e-mail shown” in Easybrew’s “records”, or been able to talk to anyone on the phone. I will await my card issuer’s response with interest.
I can recommend http://www.brewityourself.co.uk who, although also having items out of stock, offered an superb service from start to finish. My delivery arrived from them before the response from Easybrew!
Comment by Chris Hatton September 17, 2008 @ 4:40 pmEasybrew still not answering the phone, email still not working. Emailed annette.ferre@easbrew.co.uk Will post response if i get one!.
Comment by Paul R September 18, 2008 @ 2:02 pmI cant get in contact with this company, so am going to pay them a little visit. Apparantly the shop is open from 10-4pm

Pingback by Good start to the end of the week « Testing Signal September 19, 2008 @ 9:22 amOh dear!! I feel like a turkey at Christmas that has just spotted Bernard Matthews grinning at me!!! No delivery after 2wks and no answer to emails of phone calls. Never had a problem with on-line shopping before, had to happen sometime! Why doesn’t this company do us ‘honest’ people a favour and shut the internet service down!!!
Comment by Craig sutherland September 19, 2008 @ 12:34 pmI got a response from easybrew Annette on this email annette.ferre@btopenworld.com very quickly i must say. —–>
Dear Mr R
I am sorry you have requested a refund. Our records show that we emailed you to advise that we were out of stock of 2 items on your order and advising that there would be a 10 – 14 day leadtime. We also asked if you wished to change the out of stock items for something similar. As we did not hear back from you we assumed you wished to wait for your order to be complete before shipping.
However, I have today provided a full refund and confirmation is below for your records:
LOL!!!! only ordered 1 item. No email was ever received. I guess the free stuff is out of stock also .
Comment by Paul R September 19, 2008 @ 6:47 pmIf i get a refund we shall see are let you know.
I’ve also emailed Annette on her personal email as there is no sign of my order or any explanations. Wish I’d seen this website before I ordered.
Comment by Alan D September 22, 2008 @ 11:30 amOh great, it seems i am not alone in being messed about by this company. i placed my order on the 2nd of sept, was told there will be a “max 14 day delay”. since then i have been trying to phone and email and i have had no response. they have managed to take £50 of mine though for the hassle. i am now in talks with consumer direct who were very helpful. their number is 08454040506. i reccomend giving them a call and taking their advice. we’ll see what happens from here.
Comment by Alex B September 22, 2008 @ 3:10 pmHave had the same trouble recently. Got this reponse when I demanded a refund:
Please accept my most sincere apologies that there has been an unacceptable delay in your order being processed.
Unfortunately we have had problems due to my unexpected ill health recently, and this had left EasyBrew under staffed. I am now back at work and we are catching up with everything.
Your order has now been refunded and a copy of this refund confirmation is below for your records.
This situation is not something we are proud of and we are working hard to get up to date and to ensure that this never happens again.
Once again, I am extremely sorry about all the inconvenience you have been put to.
I have also heard that BBC’s Watchdog are now aware of this company and are looking into it.
Comment by Jimmy B September 25, 2008 @ 12:44 amIf anyone does get a refund on their card straight from EasyBrew do check your statements afterwards that the refund doesn’t get reversed and go back to EasyBrew. I just noticed the thread on this at: http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16407 and I’ll be keeping a close eye on my card statement from now on.
Comment by Jimmy B September 29, 2008 @ 10:27 amOh marvellous! Why didn’t I see this thread before? Ordered for my husband’s birthday. Looks like he’ll get it next year (if at all). What the h*** am I supposed to do now? His birthday’s tomorrow!
Comment by Lucy O October 1, 2008 @ 2:07 pmoh dear. I (like so many others in this thread) wish I’d found this site before placing an order.
It looks the most professionally designed website for homebrew supplies I’ve seen (which was why I used it), though it seems, after reading this thread the website order system has no link to there warehouse stocking system. As a professional developer, if I had the time, I’d offer to sort it our for them!
Comment by Tony Mc October 2, 2008 @ 8:12 amOh christ. I just checked my statement from, earlier this year and there was a refund from this company, and then it was taken out again. Thanks for the heads up on this Jimmy B.
Comment by Brendan T October 2, 2008 @ 11:02 amStill no satisfaction from Annette. Refund email received but the amount was then retaken so I’m still out of pocket. Next stop Trading Standards.
Comment by Alan D October 3, 2008 @ 9:09 amThey are not answering my emails or my phonecalls. They have taken money off me. These guys are crooks.
Comment by Easybrew Ripped Me Off October 5, 2008 @ 8:33 pmthey have refunded me and went bk into my account and retook money
this is theft no response from Anette so will be reporting to police.
Comment by tina ward October 6, 2008 @ 9:14 amI constantly ring the phone number and it is either engaged or just rings out – does anyone feel like this is a scam , does the company actually exist
anyone else reported this to police?
Comment by tina ward October 6, 2008 @ 9:18 amI ordered my products from Easybrew almost 3 weeks ago. Today (6th October), I have still received nothing. I spoke to Easybrew last week and they said they didn’t have the stock and they would call the next day to let me know that it had been dispatched. I had no call. My money (£72.35)was taken immediately on 18th September. Easybrew, either refund me my money or send me my products today! This is not good service. I would appreciate acknowledgement to save you a lot of hassle in the future.
Comment by Jack Foxall October 6, 2008 @ 12:21 pmHi;
I see a few of you have had the same probs with EasyBrew that I have had. I had my money refunded then taken off my account again and then told some story about ‘a computer glitch’. Anyway I have started a thread about this at Jim’s Homebrew forum, so please if you can post your messages about refunds here too: http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16407 as I want as many people as possible to avoid this dodgy company.
Yep, Tina…I think the police should be informed.
Comment by EB October 6, 2008 @ 7:06 pmI had problems with an order that never turned up. I eventually got a refund on the 28th of Sept, only to see the money go back out of my bank account without my permission on the 30th Sept. E-mailed Annette on 30th, still heard nothing. Bank will have to contact her soon over this criminal behaviour.
Comment by Mary Horn October 8, 2008 @ 1:26 pmI have had the same problems. Order 9th August £72.80 taken straight away. Not able to contact these crooks by phone so emailed several times. Eventually got a reply saying refund was on its way. Got refunded 25th Sep then money taken back out two days later. I dont’ understand why they bother to pretend to refund in the first place?Bank unable to help because it was a debit card which, it appears, gives the internet seller to take your money and not deliver! I have given up any chance of getting goods or money back but I am very concerned that trading Standards appear not to have taken action. Isn’t that their job? This company is trading ilegally. Trading standards just refer to the Consumer Advice line – I don’t need advice! But action is needed to close down their website to avoid others being ripped off so please DO SOMETIHNG!
Comment by Glyn Johnson October 8, 2008 @ 4:27 pmLOOK at this site
Comment by Ian October 8, 2008 @ 4:50 pmhttp://ruggedroads.co.uk
It is the same address as easybrew and the same phone number!! What is all that about?
Yes it is the same company, Ian. The ruggedroads website says that they always have stock in so that they can despatch straight away. A crock of lies. I guess people will get stung on that site too!
Comment by Julie G October 8, 2008 @ 7:25 pmSo has anyone else been told that they are getting a refund by cheque to be sent by 1st class recorded delivery? And have you also been given a tracking number only to find that there is ‘no confirmation of delivery’ on the post office’s website and no sign of said cheque? I bet the delivery number is teh same one for all of us…probably an empty envelope sent to the easybrew shop and not signed for…..
Comment by Tony H October 9, 2008 @ 12:56 pmyeah…i’m waiting for a cheque too….oh bloody ell.
Comment by EB October 9, 2008 @ 12:57 pmwell have a look here folks:

looks like this annette woman is up to her old tricks again with the other company..
Comment by Rouge Trader Hunter October 9, 2008 @ 3:49 pmPlease keep your comments about this company off UKGSer. If our members have an issue with the motorcycle parts company ran by these people then we will be glad to hear about it and try and resolve them. Thanks.
Comment by whatton October 9, 2008 @ 5:20 pmReading through the posts here and on the other thread here:
http://grez.wordpress.com/2007/09/05/easybrewcouk-problems/
I can see a long pattern of different lies ranging from illness, inept staff, dodgy delivery service, computer glitches etc etc. If any or all of the above were true that still doesn’t explain why a website is kept online that can take money from people when they can’t honour the orders.
And then there are the stories of refunds that turn up then get taken again. All the evidence points to very foul play from this company and yes they are crooks. One wonders about the very few positive posts about this company are genuine or not?
Apparantley these people run another online business to do with bikes or something from the same address. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Pingback by Easybrew Problems « Easybrew Problems Weblog October 14, 2008 @ 1:26 pmLike most of you I have been having problems with my order.
I actually emailed Annette last week asking if she wanted to sell the business to me! As yet I have received no reply…..
Comment by Dave October 17, 2008 @ 9:05 amOh dear me too I ordered £37.98 worth of goods on 18th September, it’s now 21st October, two messages from Anette saying (1) will put in a free kit then (2) that, yes, you’ve guessed it, they are now working overtime to clear their backlog (again)
Illness or no illness, this all smacks of a poorly run company who should not have a website open to take our money whilst they are seemingly incapable of delivering the goods.
Comment by Geoff Saunders October 21, 2008 @ 12:23 pmAh sorry I forgot to say as yet neither goods nor refund……but then reading the above comments, do I really need to stress that?

Please do not post personal information about the proprietor of Easybrew (or anyone else for that matter) here. If you have a problem with Easybrew there are legal channels etc. that you can use to find a solution to your issue.
***Note: Original comment contained an address claiming to be that of the Easybrew proprietor. I have removed this as it does not help anyone with their order issues, and could cause more serious trouble.***
Comment by Helpful October 22, 2008 @ 12:52 pm…been promised a refund and sent details of the instruction.
As a banker myself I am watching it like a hawk and will come down on them like a ton of bricks if there is any funny business.
Comment by Dave October 22, 2008 @ 1:40 pmHi like many people on this site i have also been having real issues getting any form of service from this company. i placed an order with them on 23rd sept and didn’t receive it till october 20th and then when it did finally turn up was not all there. also contacted easybrew on many occasions and was given about 4 different delivery dates even got told 1 day that my order had been dispatched and would be with me by 5.45 at the latest needless to say the item didn’t arrive as it wasn’t posted till 2 days after it should have been.
Comment by Andy October 23, 2008 @ 11:11 amI have tried several times to contact easybrew regarding my missing item but to no avail, so i have contacted trading standards regarding the company but have been told that they are unlikely to act unless they receive several complaints so as well as posting on here pls contact your local trading standards agency to try and put a stop to this poor excuse for a business before they can prey on more people trying to get presents for Christmas or save money when times are getting harder, the number given to me by trading standards is 08454 040506.
I appreciate that Easybrew may be trying to sort out the problems they are having but that is of little consolation to those left out of pocket or having to go elsewhere for presents etc. this company needs to be shut down until they get their act together and the only way to stop them is by reporting them to the relevant authorities. so pls call 08454 040506 and give them the details of your problem.
I have had exactly the same problem with this company. It seems they are consistently promising delivery which never materialises; they never reply to correspondence and always claim ill health. I have contacted trading standards – but I see that I may need to go further than this. How can this company still be allowed to trade??!!!
Comment by elizabeth clark October 24, 2008 @ 2:11 pmHad enough of this company and Annettes lies Im taking this to Watchdog and I will mention this forum for all the other people she has ripped off.
will keep you posted guys.
Comment by Tina Ward October 25, 2008 @ 7:25 pmemail rec today from Annette stating ;
Dear Tina
I have been looking into this and it seems the refund did not get processed by our merchant services company. I therefore wrote you a letter yesterday enclosing a cheque in the sum of “29.44.
included is the tracking number
Isnt this the same as Tony comment October 9th how the hell are we to tske her serious guys.
have an email ready to fire to Watchdog – will keep u all posted
Comment by Tina Ward October 26, 2008 @ 7:05 pmJust thought I’d update you. I sent a recorded/signed for letter to EasyBrew asking for a refund. You are fully entitled to do this if you do this within 7 working days of the order under the Distance Selling Regulations (fyi). I received an email from Annette Ferre one week later saying that the order was going to be despatched shortly with a free gift to compensate for the “computer glitch”. I replied that I did not want the order, just the refund as requested.
No reply from Ms Ferre. No refund. No answer from the phone. Have now raised it with Visa. Visa are happy to dispute payment on the grounds of non delivery of goods within the 30 day period of ordering.
Will let you know what happens.
Comment by Lucy O October 29, 2008 @ 12:33 pmWish I’d googled the company name BEFORE ordering. ordered 3rd Oct – order delayed then told it had been dispatched, then told it had been delivered, when it clearly hasn’t. Annette seems to have stopped replying to my emails now.
Comment by Nic Pillinger October 29, 2008 @ 6:13 pmThis would be a great Carry On film if it wasn’t real……I got an email from AF on 21/10/08 telling me that part of the order was out of stock, but would be delivered the next Tues 28th & despatched next working day delivery…..then on 22/10/08 another email told me the order had already been despatched & would check in the morning of next day to confirm if this was the case……now over a week later, no confirmation & no goods either. I’ve asked for a refund will let you good people know what goes on…..
Comment by Geoff Saunders October 30, 2008 @ 9:23 ami also have been completely shafted by this company. wont bore any one with thee details suffice to say i received equally despicable treatment from this company as others have, and i am still out of pocket. i am planing on contacting hampshire trading standards and urge anyone else affected by this company to also do so. its the only way to stop this company, and hopefully see miss ferre taken to task for her behavior. it looks like shes F**ked ALOT of people over, and for every message here theres probably at least 5 more people that have been conned and not posted here. i have also contacted google and asked them not not list her site, and to stop running adverts for the site(which is how i found it i think).
Comment by rob October 31, 2008 @ 1:47 pmOh Boy! Wish I’d found this BEFORE I ordered from Easybrew…Ordered on the 13th Oct, money taken from Credit card on 13th, and nothing heard since…no email replies, phone engaged or rings constantly….SH**!
Comment by niki October 31, 2008 @ 5:02 pmAnother one here!
I haven’t brewed for the last couple of years due to moving house/getting married/various other things. I always used to use easybrew and was never let down by them once.
However, my first attempt to get back into backfired when I placed my order with easybrew 10 days ago. I struggled to get hold of them last week, but FINALLY did on Thursday. They assured me they had all the stuff in stock, and that I’d receive it for the weekend.
Well, the weekend came and went, and now their website has gone down, and the phone has been taken off the hook (permanently engaged).
AVOID!
Comment by Dave November 3, 2008 @ 11:09 amI so wish I had visibility of this website before I ordered. Ordered on 25/11/08 and not received a thing. I hope I have not been ripped off as this was a present and many more orders would have followed from it.
All phone calls and emails remain unanswered.
I am appalled at the fact that on a thread on here, when someone went to the site, employees did not answer ringing phones. This says it all.
I will this week request my money back unless all items are delivered. If not surely this is theft and will have to be dealt with as such.
Comment by J Storey November 3, 2008 @ 11:11 amAdd me to the list! I haven’t received my order or had a single Email response so I cancelled my order on Friday, asked my bank to do a chargeback and reported the company to trading standards (and Watchdog!).
I’m thinking of calling the police next… in my opinion this isn’t bad trading or fraud, it’s downright theft! Has anyone explored this option?
I feel such a fool and wish I had found this site before making a purchase! I’m amazed ‘the authorities’ have allowed this site to carry on with this appalling behaviour for almost a year.
Shame on google too for putting them right at the top of their search results!
Comment by Rob Cheverton November 3, 2008 @ 11:59 amAdd me as well.
I placed an order with them on 21st October for £85 worth of goods.
Comment by Chris Taylor November 3, 2008 @ 12:40 pmNothing so far.
Wish I had seen this site before I ordered.
I am lodging a complaint with Trading standards, as well as watchodg. Have also copied my solicitor in on my email to Annette.
Lets see what happens.
I am afraid that it looks like they are in the process of gong bust – website down etc (it could be that their merchant services provider has pulled the plug). I have checked with the insolvency service but nothing there yet, but it can take a few days. As a banker myself, I know from experience that if they have ceased trading customers are unlikely in these circumstances to get their money back – unless they paid by credit card in which case you will be ok. Like an idiot I paid with Switch – and I should have known better!!
I am particularly interested in one aspect of this – she sent me an email that purported to show a bankers confirmation that a refund was being made. This of course never occured, leading me to question whether this email was forged/altered – I am investigating this further and if this turns out to be the case I shall take further action, not least to ensure the directors are disqualified etc.
Finally she never replied to my expression of interest in buying the company…..very strange. I live less than 3 miles from her so I am sure I will bump into her soon!!!
Comment by Dave November 3, 2008 @ 1:45 pmHow can they go bust, with so many people wanting to buy from them.
Comment by Chris Taylor November 3, 2008 @ 4:05 pmThats just really bad management.
How can they go bust, with so many people wanting to buy from them?
Well as we say:
Turnover is Vanity
Profit is Sanity
Cash is Reality
I am afraid business with lots of customers, even profitable go bust all the time – simply because they are unable to pay the next bill as it falls due. However, whilst we dont know the full facts aboput this business, on the face of it given the number of complaints, you have to question the competance of Easybew, if not its integrity!
This was one reason that I expressed an interest in buying the business – clearly there are a lot of potential customers out there, and if you can provide a decent service at reasonable prices there hould be no reason why they wont come back again and again.
Comment by Dave November 3, 2008 @ 4:24 pmWell they’re certainly getting the cash. and with no outlay either. Either poor managers or very smart. Collect the money in, pay back those who complain, and pocket the money of those who don’t.
Comment by Chris Taylor November 3, 2008 @ 8:26 pmI too have fallen foul of this company.
Comment by Steve J November 3, 2008 @ 10:08 pmNo delivery/contact/refund at all.
I mananged to speak to someone at Easybrew 2 weeks ago and was promised my stuff, but it never arrived.
Now the website is closed.
I have emailed for a refund or alternative goods if those ordered are out of stock so I’ll wait and see, but I don’t hold out much hope.
Well the site’s back up now so I guess a few more victims will be notched up. I shudder to think how much money is going into their accounts, it seems everyone is spending £50 plus, my order number was well over 3000 so I’m guessing they’ve raised quite a bit from this scam!
I really can’t believe this is not being closed by trading standards or the police.
Has anyone managed to contact mwa who power the site, I would be interested to hear their view on this but they don’t pick up their phones either!? Is mwa another sham company?
…and has anyone heard back from trading standards yet?
Comment by Rob Cheverton November 4, 2008 @ 7:07 pmi placed my oerder on the 25 oct still no goods i’v sent email’s and rang 3 days steady and had no reply this was my first order to start homebrewing it make me fell sick how can they get away with this!!
Comment by colin November 5, 2008 @ 7:21 pmI have phoned, emailed and sent letters re. cancelation and requesting a refund. No response. Now contacted “consumer direct” (details on net). I have now sent a legal letter requesting a refund as per “distance selling regulations”. Trading standards have thus been informed of this company (many times by the sounds of it). Ill await this and then it is Court proceedings – This I am informed is not that expensive to undertake !!
Comment by JS November 6, 2008 @ 12:29 pmOrder No. 3489
Same familiar story:
Ordered (£44.93) on 22/10/08.
No delivery, no response to emails, phone not answered.
Has anyone had any good news recently? Delivery or refunds? It would give the rest of us some hope to hear of something going right.
Comment by Martin T November 6, 2008 @ 2:52 pmIt may be worth looking into the possibility of a joint legal case against them. I.e. lets all combine forces and take them to court, as one large law suit.
Comment by Chris Taylor November 6, 2008 @ 3:01 pmNot sure if this counts as ‘good news’ but when I came home yesterday, there was a delivery note waiting for me. It has to be my order from easybrew, because I’ve not ordered anything else recently.
Thing is, because my easybrew order was very time crucial, when the order didn’t arrive I had to find elsewhere to buy from. So I have absolutely no need for the easybrew order anymore. My plan is to refuse this delivery, have it sent back to sender, and hopefully that will cause them to call me (“yeah, good luck”, right?). If they don’t, I’m seeking a refund from my credit card anyway.
So I should say, I don’t think the company is a ’scam’ as some people are implying, I have used them in the past many many times, and have never had a problem. It’s more a ’sham’, insofar as they clearly can’t adequately perform their function anymore. They are clearly screwing people over big time, and not delivering on promises. But they aren’t exactly scammers, since they are actually sending out some orders.
Comment by David Downes November 6, 2008 @ 3:14 pmI have raised an objection on this purchase with my Card services. They are looking into it now.
Comment by JS November 6, 2008 @ 4:08 pmI will check with the Hampshire Police next week to see if they can look into this. The court route will come into play if they don’t reimburse me in the alloted time. Additionally they have “our” card details and cannot be trusted as they cannot even be contacted ! This too is unacceptable and I will contact via legal letter re this next week.
+1 to the list of people she has shafted, luckily if was for a small amount, I feel sorry for the people out of pocket to a larger amount.
Surely the law must get involved, for my part a call to trading standards/watchdog for what its worth, not worried about the money now, just want other not to fall for it.
Comment by lee langridge November 6, 2008 @ 6:27 pmhi everyone in the same boat as you all ordered my stuff end of sept and taken payment by credit card for E150.00.EURO still no reply from her wish i now looked at this site wont make the same mistake again
Comment by a revell November 6, 2008 @ 8:04 pmI thought I had already commented on here but it does not seem to have been published, I am one of the sad people who placed an order in August, after lots of wrangling got a refund to only find they re-debited my account a few days later but no goods, the bank are dealing on my behalf and will probably call the police in as this is now a fraud matter. I did not authorise the second transaction.
Comment by Luba November 7, 2008 @ 11:44 amI to have been shafted by this company. Placed an order on 02/10/08, recieved an e-mail 09/10 appologising for the delay claiming the delay was due to the volume of business they were doing and that my order would be dispached. Complained by e-mail on 17/10, got a reply saying my order would be dispatched etc etc.
Comment by Andy Orton November 7, 2008 @ 2:33 pmE-mailed them yesterday asking for a refund and informing them that I would be writing to Trading Standards regarding poor customer service.
Don’t hold much hope, but I will keep you informed.
I think these Easybrew people are in full knowledge of the Law ! They know the Police will wait for the Trading Standards ! Follow the advice from “comsumer direct” this is all we can do and they know it !! Collectively this will have the correct effect. I hope they congratulate themselves in taking money from ordinary folk in a credit crunch !
Comment by JS November 7, 2008 @ 2:57 pmPersonally I think Easybrew need to be stopped from trading as soon as possible, this has gone on long enough.
There are very few homebrew trade distributers so I would suggest contacting them to let them know what’s going on. Hopefully by cutting off their supplies they wont be able to rip off anymore of their customers.
I’m sure the following companies will be interested to find out what’s happening.

For what it’s worth Brew it Yourself have upset their share of customers but there are plenty of very good homebrew shops with online services out there, all with a good track record for delivery.
The following are all excellent homebrew shops…
Leyland Homebrew
Art of Brewing
Hamstead Brewing Centre
The Home Brew Shop
The Hop Shop UK
Beer Tech (online only)
Hop and Grape (probably the buisiest home brew shops and small delays in delivery reflect this).
Compare prices before buying as no one shop is the cheapest, they all have their own deals.
I’ve found if you phone Leyland Homebrew, The Hop Shop or Hop and Grape they are all willing to give very good advice over the phone too.
Good luck everyone.
Comment by Chris November 7, 2008 @ 9:14 pmjust fough i let you allknow still cant get hold of this woman wont answer to my emails never answer the phone cant get a refund out of her let me know if anyone as had a refund from this so callcompany easybrew
Comment by a revell November 7, 2008 @ 10:02 pmHi folks;
Sorry to hear that people are still having problems with this terrible company. I did manage to finally get a refund out of them but it was a hassle. I sent them a letter (by special delivery not recorded) telling them to pay me by a certain date. They then got in touch with me via email (at last) with a bunch of lies. I then had the maount credited back to my Card by the requested date. Only two days later EasyBrew took the money back abd then claimed it was a ‘computer glitch’. More lies. Easybrew then sais they would send me a cheque by recorded delivery for the next day and gave me the recorded delivery reference number to check online. The cheque did not turn up the next day or the day after and when I checked online it said ‘the letter was being processed’. The cheque finally turned up a week later and guess what? It had not been sent via recorded delivery. So more lies from EasyBrew.
Just keep emailing and demand a refund by a certain date. Mention this site and also threaten them with Watchdog, Trading Standarads and even a visit to the store (if you can get there and find it open).
Also you may interested to know that the woman at EasyBrew runs another company (www.ruggedroads.co.uk) which is the same address, phone number etc etc, so it is not just homebrewers who are falling foul of this company.
Best of luck everyone

Comment by Danny G November 8, 2008 @ 11:20 amThe wholesalers will not listen. They are giving them very little credit and therefore they must pay for the goods before having them, or at the very least, pay for the last lot before getting new orders. As cash flow is the problem, there will be big stock shortages. However, as long as they are paying bills, the wholesalers will keep supplying them. Their fear is they stop supplying them, they will concentrate their orders on a competitor.
Easybrew, like many other online stores, do not stock all the items they list, only a small selection. If an item is ordered that they do not stock, they have to wait until they order it in before despatching, which from the comment made above, could be some time.
The problem was probably caused by their wanting to be top on the Google adwords. This is where they pay Google for each click to their site. To be listed higher, you must pay Google more money. If you do not set a fixed daily budget, costs very quickly escalate and judging by how they were always top 24/7, it must have been hundreds of pounds each month. This is why they have now gone from Adwords (cannot pay Google?).
Trading standards is the best path, if all contact them and complain, perhaps they will finally take action and stop others being fleeced.
Comment by Anon November 9, 2008 @ 9:43 amConsumer Direct called and they are passing on (my) case to Trading Standards in Hampshire. Checking up on Small claims court proceedings in readiness (they have 30 days from my letter date to refund fully – legally). An email (not a refund) has arrived stating they will send me a letter from Easybrew – the only thing that will stop me is a full refund not a letter.
Comment by JS November 11, 2008 @ 8:35 amI have spoken to “Protx.com” today, who according to the Easybrew web site handle the financial transactions. They are stating that they have only ever received 1 complaint about easybrew which ended up being refunded. Therefore I would suggest that we all contact them.
They have told me to email their support department on ’support@protx.com’ stating the facts. I am also going to include the web address of this site so that they can see the trouble that Easybrew are causing.
Lets get emailing , and maybe we can either get our money back, or at least get them shutdown, so they can’t rip anyone else off.
Comment by Chris November 11, 2008 @ 2:24 pmThanks Chris – have written to Protx.
I have done a bit of digging, and it would appear that there may be an innocent albeit very annoying reason for all these problems that we have been having. It would appear that Ms Ferre and her other half have spent most of 2008 on various road trips ove rthe UK and Europe on their rather natty (and expensive) cross country bikes. Furthermore, she seems never to be away from cross country bike message boards.
There is of course no excuse at all for this teenage-style behaviour from a 44yo woman. If you want to run your own business, take people’s money and be a director, you have legal and moral responsibilities to fulfil.
Comment by Dave November 11, 2008 @ 4:52 pmSome good news.
Protx have written to me saying that they are going to investigate this and request a proposal from Easybrew as to how they are going to rectify this matter. They are giving them 5 days to respond.
I would suggest everyone else writes to protx.
Lets see if anything comes of it.
Comment by Chris November 12, 2008 @ 1:19 pmhad an email today saying see has looked into my order and is sorry that neither easybrew or their/her suppliers have my product.and that I should of had a responce stating as much(you think?)
contrary to an email 4 weeks before stating that the products where in and on the way to me.
apparently a letter is on the way with a refund(we’ll see)I did threaten to make a personnal appearance and may yet do.
I’ll let people know if I’m successful(doubt it)
A letter to protx is on the way
Comment by Lee Langridge November 12, 2008 @ 8:16 pmI placed an order with Easy Brew on the 24th October – the money came straight out of my account (£65, but I never got any form of confirmation and still have not received the goods.
It’s impossible to get through to them on the phone – a message is left asking you to email support@easybrew.co.uk, to which they’ll reply within 24 hours. I have emailed both this address and Annette Ferre’s personal one every day for over a week now and have no response from either!
I have spoken to my bank and they have agreed to investigate the company on my behalf, and they have agreed to credit my account with the £65 if their findings prove that Easy Brew is failing to deliver the goods it promises.
I will also forward my emails to Protx having read the posts on this site!
Comment by Will Steed November 13, 2008 @ 1:23 pmCONTACT ANNETTE FERRE DIRECTLY.
contacting annette ferre via easybrew obviously seems to not work. however after discovering her personal email address and mobile phone number i did manage to speak to her. although i think contacting someone via private contact details would normally inappropriate, her absoloute disregard and lack of respect for her customers warrents it. this is a copy of the email which was sent to her home email address:
annette ferre,
i have gotten this contact address for you after investigating you and your business on the internet. i wish i had of done this before i ever placed my order with you as you appear to be a despicable company. i have found hundreds of testimonies as to how awful your business practices are. i have made repeated attempts to contact you, all in vein. i absolutely demand a refund. however i am aware that this is a demand you are probably used to so i am also taking this up with hampshire trading standards, hampshire police and informing my bank of your fraudulent activites. i gather you are also in the habit of debiting people a second time once you return their refund to them. if this happens to me i shall purse the matter through court whether i have to take out private action against you or whether it is pursed through the criminal courts. i would also recommend that you cease trading immediately before you end up in jail/fined for fraud.
i also conatcted googles advertising department to explain they were running advertisements for a very unscroupulous comapny, i contacted the host company at: James.Batty@ukfast.co.uk, and i contacted hampshire trading standards who seemed to be aware of her activites. they can be contacted at rsadvice@hants.gov.uk and if they receive enough complaints they should intervene. probably the most effective part was calling her on her mobile which, yes, low and behold, she answered! the number is 07828 691741.
through employing all these methods i did eventually get a cheque in the post from her. and as a precaution i ordered another bank card, because i dont trust this company with my card details on iota. i recommend using all the above methods, and make sure you contact trading standards its the only way she will be closed for good! i also asked them to treat my case as related to any other complaints about easybrew they might have had. good luck!
Comment by rob November 14, 2008 @ 11:41 amI received a cheque after placing my order on the 25th Oct.
I had to send emails and follow up (recorded delivery) letters
for a) Cancelling my order b) a refund of my order and
c) stating the distance selling regulations – 2000) and reafirming
to refund my order.
Meanwhile I:
I had also contacted “consumer direct” and they passed my
enquiry onto Hampshire trading standards. You get a case number so
you can check on it.
I contacted Hampshire Police. (they cannot do a great deal legally
as imsure this company know until Trading standards get involved)
The above is legal process – long winded but this will get results.
Small claims courts and baliffs would have been my next steps.
It appears the cheque has actually been paid in however
(I had to go throughthe above mind to get it !), so
I am now sorted I think ! – BUT it doesn’t remove my
fury at having been treated like this. It is a disgrace.
Please note mind these people know the law !!!!!!. I had a letter from
her with lies of sending me an email stating delays. this is hard to
prove in court either way unless direct access to the computer
is allowed.
The one thing that is certain is that after you have cancelled your order she
must reimburse you in 30 days.
As some people on here have had refunds only to find that
the money was again taken from there credit cards I cancelled
my card in readiness ! PLEASE NOTE : The people who have
had this done to them have an immediate “fraud” case
and can contact the Police and additionally I am told the
“Information commissioner” (this is to do with the data protection act
and the misuse of ones data – i.e. removing money fraudulently from
a credit card)
My card is ready and waiting for this to happen !
In this day and age of credit crunch a company such as this making
Comment by js November 15, 2008 @ 10:38 amprofit from innocent folk. Im sure she will ponder that fact later in life.
Unbelievable!! Just checked the easybrew website, and guess what, Annette is now offering free delivery on all orders in November!!!! Trading Standards really do need to put a stop to this – how many people need to lose their money before they’ll take action?!
Comment by mrd November 17, 2008 @ 12:17 pmI think I may have had a result!
Comment by Andy Orton November 19, 2008 @ 11:24 amReported “EasyBrew” to Hampshire Trading Standards on Monday…….Tuesday I recieved an e-mail from Annette appologising for the problems and stating she has sent, by 1st class post, a cheque to the full value of my order.
I will let you know:-
a)If it arrives.
b)If it clears.
c)If the funds remain in my account.
After weeks of countless unanswered phone calls and emails, a letter arrived out of the blue on Saturday morning from Annette, apologising that EasyBrew has been unable to fulfil my order in a timely fashion and explaining that this has been due to her having a sudden serious illness.
Looking back at this thread I find that very hard to believe as it seems she’s been giving the same excuse for months – if her illness has been that detrimental to her ability to trade she should have suspended all activity a long time ago!
I’m cancelling my card as I don’t trust her with my details.
Comment by Will Steed November 19, 2008 @ 12:28 pmJust recieved a letter including a cheque for reimbursment with a letter of apology, about time. Lets see if it clears and stays in my account.
Trading standards called me saying that they are in contact with easybrew and are dealing with the case and that easybrew are in the process of reimbursing people, hope other people reach a favourable outcome, if not contact Julie Gallagher, trading standards 01962 833640
good luck
Comment by Lee Langridge November 19, 2008 @ 11:07 pmI have been trying to get a refund for ages now. I was promised a cheque, but nothing has yet been received (8 days ago). How long did it take for your cheques to arrive?
Comment by Dominic Smith November 20, 2008 @ 3:34 pmJust spoken to Julie Galagher at Trading Standards, she has stated that Annette has made a commitment to get all back dated refunds/deliveries completed by next Friday.
Hmmm, Lets see shall we.
Comment by Chris November 20, 2008 @ 3:56 pmOh look, was that a flying pig?
All you guys that thought you’ve landed lucky and received a cheque in refund watch out!
I placed a £91.99 order in mid October, received the standard “out of stock, 10-14 day delay blah blah”. No delivery, no contact, no patience, found this forum, letter sent, cheque received as full refund. Written apology “been seriously ill….sorry….got behind” and that old bollox.
Anyway cheque paid into bank account Monday this week. BOING! damn thing bounced.
Luckily I had contacted my bank’s fraud department and they charged the debit back to my VISA DEBIT card today. I feel lucky to have got away with this.
Even if you paid by debit card, get onto your bank. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Comment by Ali K November 21, 2008 @ 10:45 pmCheque took a week to arrive, it has cleared into my account, lets see if it stays there! At least a fraud case will get my money back if it does come out again, sorry to be a bit cynical but I do hope this is the end of it, hope others are getting their moneys back.
This whole episode is a joke, I do hope her business suffers from bad reviews, IMO this is no way to treat people who probably would of bought many things from the company from repeat orders, not bloody likely now!!
Good luck guys
Comment by Lee Langridge November 22, 2008 @ 11:47 amOh boy what a bunch or crooks. £98.00 they had off me in September and not a sausage! Hope i do get a refun and they try to take the money again i will take this company to the cleaners. I am investigating having the web site shut down. An injunction on them trading and once i have evidence of freud that too. Many people intodays climate are turning to home brewing because of the credit crunch. They are just taking the piss!
Comment by Nick November 25, 2008 @ 11:47 amFrom the Webmaster:
Please DO NOT post personal information regarding the proprietor of Easybrew (Annette Ferre) such as home phone numbers, home addresses, mobile numbers etc. It is unhelpful and does not help you get your money back or your goods delivered!
All such comments will be deleted!
Thanks,
Graham
Comment by Graham Dinsdale November 25, 2008 @ 4:52 pmI have today received my order and the free 30 kit promised for all my problems. I placed my order on the 30th September. Thank you Annette for finally resolving the issue. It is a shame i had to get heavy handed to get my goods!
Comment by Nick Chapman November 27, 2008 @ 9:09 amI too have received my order which I had placed on 14/10/08. It seems things are moving in the right direction and I would continue emailing if you are still waiting for your orders.
Comment by Steve J November 27, 2008 @ 9:12 amI must say that it does seem Annette is trying to resolve things.
Hi, I too have a problem with easybrew. I ordered some replacement wine filter pads and received a full filter kit. I was advised by annette to post the kit back minus the filter pads (at my own cost) and they would credit me or send me goods to the value. I have an order EB9804 which has handwritten on it send one muntons pilsner kit + £3 but unfortunately it was not part of that delivery and still has not been received. I can’t get an answer on the phone and emails are being rejected. hopefully posting here will get an answer
Comment by Barney Nicholls November 28, 2008 @ 3:15 pmI used to go in the shop regularly being local – but gave up because of low stock levels &
Comment by brian hiker November 30, 2008 @ 5:25 pmTHERE WAS ALWAYS A DOG WANDERING ABOUT IN THE SHOP !!!
Like everyone here I had similar problems of delivery and refund. Sorted now but I would reccomend visiting http://www.hopandgrape.co.uk in future, I’ve used them for the first time and the customer service was fantastic.
I would certainly recommend them over chancing your luck again with eb…
Comment by Tim December 4, 2008 @ 9:12 pmWell got to say I am another victim of easybrew had an email saying low stock order would be late that was aroud a month ago as with other telephone calls and emails not being answered. The interesting thing to me is that they seem to find time to update offers on the website ….. Will see what christmas brings then go to trading standards…..
Comment by R.Bradley December 19, 2008 @ 5:45 amHi All,
Comment by Gerric Chaplin December 22, 2008 @ 8:26 pmIt seems I also did not see the warning signs. I made a purchase on 30 Sep, 2008 for around £65 I got the usual email and have sent a few asking for the money to be returned. I did receive some email stating that the charge had been reversed but it has never reached my account. I even got hold of the guys at http://www.protx.com their payment gateway. They could not help me.
It looks like I’m going to get some legal advice on how to recoup my money through the courts. I have given easybrew every available opportunity to repay the money. Companies House still seems to be awaiting easybrew returns. I’m sure they will be interested to know easybrew has been making a tidy sum this year. It’s not so much the money but the principal of the matter. These are the sorts of companies that give small traders a bad name.
Cheers
jhmwpkpkyocucgcwwell, hi admin adn people nice forum indeed. how’s life? hope it’s introduce branch
Comment by TrulgelesHus December 27, 2008 @ 9:31 pmHello there,
Comment by EW December 30, 2008 @ 1:14 pmWish I’d found this thread before ordering on Dec 3rd instead of after Christmas when I was left present-less. Having received no reply to my emails and telephone calls, I contacted trading standards http://www.hants.gov.uk/regulatory/tradingstandards/consumeradvice.html who sadly seemed familiar with the name and repeated the advice about sending a recorded delivery letter. I also did a check on the companies house website http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/123c6e78d8a49b8a01b395b19a47ca36/wcframe?name=accessCompanyInfo which revealed that they are about to be struck off, which *i think* means they will be liquidated (providing there is no objection) and those left with outstanding orders treated as unsecured creditors.
Although they only owe me £30, I will be pursuing the amount on principal as I am disgusted at the quick removal of the money from my account and the complete lack of communication and throughly disappointed at being left without a gift to give someone at christmas.
made order on the 6th dec still had nothing, spoke to annette who told me weeks ago it had been dispatched, yea right.goin down to the shop to mett the lady who cancelled xmas
Comment by brian December 31, 2008 @ 7:59 amThis company stink, and I am going break into her shop and take the items I am owed.
Comment by Tim January 4, 2009 @ 8:29 amTheir shop isn’t in the ringwood estate!!!! its 27 oxford street in Brighton!!!! I just drove past it… I’ll pop in later with some of my mate and tear that place apart!!
Comment by speedking600 January 7, 2009 @ 2:11 pmI originally placed a fairly substantial order back on the 2nd October 2008…….
I dont even get the excuses anymore!!! I could understand the situation if the business had gone bust but amazingly it continues to “trade” if that is the correct word.
As it happens she will shortly be receiving a visit from the court-appointed bailiffs on my behalf so it will be interesting to see what cash or stock they can seize…..
I will get my money back one way or another, formally or informally, but what a pain in the butt!
Comment by Ellery January 12, 2009 @ 1:54 pmI ordered £380 worth of goods from Easybrew and they took the money instantly. I received an email the next day as follows:
Dear xxxxxx
Thank you very much for your recent order. Please accept my apology but there will be a slight delay in your order being despatched, as we are out of stock of the item(s) below:
30 Bottle Equipment Kits , Kenridge Classic Pinot Grigio and Muntons Santa`s Winter Warmer
I have checked with our suppliers and we should be receiving them within the next 10 – 14 days (maximum) and your order will then be sent out to you on a next working day service.By way of apology for this delay, when we ship your order we will include a “little something” with my compliments.
If this delay is too long and you wish to change to an alternative product, please do let me know.

I never received any items until 6 weeks later and that was down to contacting my credit card company. When the items arrived, lots of items were missing and i have tried to no avail, contacting this so called company. They certainly gave me a”little something”. I have never come across such a corrupt and useless business! Stay well well away!!
Use brewingathome.co.uk They are very efficient
Comment by chris lockyer January 20, 2009 @ 3:40 pmGoods ordered 6 October 2008. Letter saying one item out of stock, would be a delay. Nothing then until I spoke to Trading Standards. Complaint reference SE623789. Then the apologetic letter alleging illness, promising refund within 7 days. Since then nothing. Recorded Delivery letter today 21 January. Will see what happens. Not holding my breath, but determined to follow this through.
Comment by frank allinson January 21, 2009 @ 11:23 amWonder whether BBC’s ‘Watchdog’ would be interested? If she has other trading outlets, a ten minute item might well appeal.
On a positive note, found everything I needed at Harveys in Fareham, and son (for whom the gear was a prsent) now brewed and beer conditioning. Harveys VERY knowledgeable, very well stocked, and will use him for the future, as I visit children down there quite regularly. He also trades on Internet as http://www.4U2BREW.CO.UK for those of you can’t visit. I would use him. An idea NEVER to use Debit cards for Internet purchases. A credit Card can be charged back and money returned without question, in fact owner has to demonstrate that goods have been supplied.
Happy brewing.

Looks as if this woman had shut down the site.
Also cant send e mails anymore.
It looks like she has done a bunk
Comment by Tim January 22, 2009 @ 7:52 amCheeky bitch promises to refund u, never does. I cant believe how she has done this but she has another business operating from the same location:

Comment by tim January 22, 2009 @ 11:49 amMr Lockyer I have talked with your partner this week and this has been resolved with the outstanding items being sent out to you.
Mr Allinson I am sorry you have not received your order. Full refund has been done today.
Tim, if you could let me have your full name I can look into this. I will be available on 01425 479972 from 11am on Monday.
speedking600 you have sent me many emails, some of them very threatening. I have responded to every email asking if you could provide at least your name as I have been unable to locate your order with the email you have been using to send me emails. our shop is in Ringwood and we have nothing to do with the shop in Brighton.
The reason we have changed the website is so that we can use a system whereby we do not take payment for an order until the order is ready to be despatched. We were unable to do this on our previous site. We are not hiding in anyway as our new website quite clearly states that we are EasyBrew.
Comment by EasyBrew January 22, 2009 @ 1:08 pmHi Annette,
As a previous dissatisfied customer of Easy Brew’s I’m intrigued – why does it require a different web address to allow this new payment method?
Comment by Will Steed January 22, 2009 @ 2:40 pmI will be pleased if you honour and satisfy all of our requests and wait with anticipation for the missing items!!
Comment by chris lockyer January 22, 2009 @ 10:03 pmYou know me my wife ordered a kit from you for Christmas. It arrived without the concentrate no insructions, 2 plastic bukets, a bit of hose. Fanatastic value at £127.00. You told me by email last week I would get 2 kits this week with your complements. Well what a surprise NOTHING. See you in court.
Comment by Tim Nicholls January 23, 2009 @ 6:40 amJust a thought how about sending me my money back
Comment by Tim Nicholls January 23, 2009 @ 6:51 amI suggest people owed money get the bailiffs in quick if she has packed up the business. Alternatively, you can find the directors details at the link below if you invest a £1 in downloading the annual return.

There are decent non-company assets to be had – I have checked out her gaff myself.
Comment by Ellery January 23, 2009 @ 9:50 amAnnette…. you are such a bullsh!tter!!
Grow up!!! The only reason you have had to change your website is because the eputation of easybrew is crap!!! Furthermore I also know that not only myself, but at least 4 other people called the company who hosted easybrew.co.uk and complained.
And I suspect they have since pulled your site and told you to get stuffed. About bloody time too!!
Your reputation isn’t a good one Annette. I did some research and it appears you used to sell stationary before all this easybrew lark. You buggered that up and started this.
Some people are not meant to be in business and I doubt anyone will argue that you’re one of them.
The real reason nobody gets their products from you is because you are never there!!! You’re far too busy riding around the country on your silly bikes (very poncy!) with your other half than running you ‘business’.
Also this pitiful service isn’t just restricted to easybrew.co.uk or homebrewingndwinemaking.co.uk
Check also http://ruggedroads.com/ have a look at the forums and see that clearly you’re not running that business any better than easybrew!!!
I did go past easybrew in Brighton….yuck!!!!! Don’t care if its not yours its pathetic and dirty!! Although somebody went past the Ringwood estate and check you out…. same thing there!!!
There is a valid reason I don’t give you my name… if you satisfied all your outstanding orders you will get to me. However you only try to please people who are complaining.
I have spoken to trading standards about you…. as have many others. I have also made them aware that you have a new website and should be monitored.
And lastly you never answer the phone so how do you expect anyone to call you?????
Give up trying to run any kind of business… you suck at it!!!
Get a job that requires you to mislead people and take their money (possibly politics) where you would fit in nicely.
Speedking600
Comment by speedking600 January 25, 2009 @ 2:51 pmAmazingly, I have received a refund. This followed my sending, Recorded Delivery, a letter prompted by Consumer Direct concerning ‘Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 – Goods. You can use their template to construct a letter.
Comment by frank allinson January 26, 2009 @ 9:24 amGood luck to the rest of you.
Needless to say, I won’t be using, or recommending this supplier.

Received a few more missing items this morning but still have missing items!! How hard can it be to read an invoice and pack items and send!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by chris lockyer January 28, 2009 @ 8:24 pmWe are Quay Side Easy Brew from Exeter and have had a few phone calls from customers trying to resolve their difficulties believing us to be Easy Brew of Ringwood.
We would like to stress we are absolutely nothing to do with Easy Brew of Ringwood and are a completely separate home brew retailer which just happens to have Easy Brew as part of our trading name.
Comment by Dave Boustead January 29, 2009 @ 6:28 pmstill no refund of my £200 order ,it was placed last september, sent another email today, but not holding my breath.
Comment by Ross Sturgeon January 30, 2009 @ 4:11 pmI wouldn’t hold your breath….there is a proposal to strike Easybrew Ltd off the Companies House Register. So if you want company & director details, you better be quick.
The reason that she can get away with this for so long, is that unlike many other countries, us Brits are basically patient, trusting and law-abiding. The problem is that somewhere, sometime she will cross the wrong person hence she will always be looking over her shoulder.

Comment by Tim Nicholls February 1, 2009 @ 11:04 amI too am having issues with easybrew. I ordered £73 of goods on the 2 Jan 09. chased them twice to be told different things were out of stock on both occations so cancelled my order almost two weeks ago. I am still waitng for my refund. they have obviuosly not sorted thier problems!
Comment by Matt February 10, 2009 @ 10:12 amI placed an order with easy brew on the 29th October. The item cost £105 however, i have not yet received the item or been refunded. I contacted the company on several occasions who state they were late receiving the goods, but they would send the item once they had received it. Almost 4 months later still no goods. i have numerous emails from this company and receipts for payment if proof is needed.
thanks Emma
Comment by Emma Torode February 10, 2009 @ 7:30 pmI advise anywone who has ordered from this company to demand a refund asap. Also, if you get the refund do check your credit card statement afterwards to check that EasyBrew have not taken the money back after they refund you…They did this to me and gave me a crock of shit about ‘computer glitches’. I did get it in the end though.
Also, get in touch with BBC Watchdog.
Comment by RogueTrader Hunter February 11, 2009 @ 7:12 pmFurther to my earlier postings, I received a full refund after following the advice of Consumer Direct using the Distance Selling Regulations. They provide a template, you just fill in your details. Send this letter, Recorded Delivery, to Easybrew, and copy it to Julie Gallagher, Trading Standards Officer, Montgomery House,Monarch Way, Winchester. SO22 5PW.

Also tell everyone you know about your experiences. The word will get around. Just refer them to this website, and within weeks they will be out of business.
Another thing, don’t lose your temper. You’ll live longer!
Best wishes,
Frank

Following my comment of 10th of Feb. I contacted my bank (Halifax) who were great. I filed a ‘Non-fraudulent dispute’ with them and had the money refunded 3 weeks later. Not sure how they got the money from easybo##ocks but they did.
Comment by Matt March 18, 2009 @ 2:56 pmOrdered 9 cans of Geordie Bitter from this Co. March 3. Money taken March 10. No delivery. Rang a week later they said they were out of stock and it would be coming in next week. Since then nothing. No one answers the phone, no respones to emails and Annette Ferre has pulled her Easybrew email address as anything to it just bounces. The sad thing is that this isn’t my money as i did it for a favour for a friend of 82 who has just got a computer up and running as a surprise for her 90 year old husband, who always reckoned computers and the internet were c**p and he is now saying he was right!! Sadly I have used the internet personally for ordering for years and have had no problems at all.Ordered with a debit card as they have no credit cards. Am now considering writing to them under the Distace Selling and informing their bank to see if they can help. Any other advice would be appreciated!
Comment by Nick Armstrong April 9, 2009 @ 8:29 amI ordered some wine from Easybrew back in October 2008, again numerous phone calls, letters, emails to be told that the product is out of stock and will be sent to me asap. I contacted them a few weeks ago, by letter and email to refund my money, I actually got to speak to a lady who took my card details for the refund and was told it would be in my bank 4-5 days later. I am still waiting. Taking advice and going down the Consumer Protection, Distance Selling.
Comment by elizabeth April 22, 2009 @ 9:53 amSent letter to Easybrew recorded. Returned to sender – couldn’t deliver! The website now says on its home page “The shop is currently closed for maintenance”. Well if you are naive you would probably believe this. It’s probably now gone bust! Anyone info on how to stake a claim with the receivers if they are appointed?

Comment by DD May 6, 2009 @ 12:12 pmThanks for that DD! Looks like game over for Easybrew then!
Comment by Graham Dinsdale May 6, 2009 @ 1:38 pmIf you are still owed money by Easybrew don’t give up just yet. My friends have just had their £71 refunded by their bank. This was from a debit card transaction as well. So it’s worth a try. Tell the bank the full story with dates etc and how many times and by what method you triied to contact EB. Copy any letters to the bank that you have sent EB or Trading Standards or even the Receiver. Never though I would say “Well done, Barclays!!”
