Easybrew.co.uk – Order problems resolved!

Out of the blue, Annette Ferre (Easybrew proprietor) left a message in the comment thread for my post on my order problems with Easybrew. I am happy to say that after contacting her directly, my problem has been solved. :-)

I have been issued with a refund for the amount outstanding on my original order, and Annette has promised to send me the goods I was missing as well.

I have contacted everyone else who had a complaint, in order that they get in touch with Annette.  If you have  a problem contact details are:

Email: annette.ferre@easybrew.co.uk

Telephone: 01425 479972

Good news all round! :-)

Now I can get back to some serious brewing. A stout next methinks… ;-)

Cheers!

Can anyone recommend a better company than easybrew? Totally messed me around for over 3 weeks. I ordered a wine making kit and although they took my money within 2 days, I have had no sign of the kit…finally told they were out of stock which is understandable but as I say – 3 weeks later and no sign of my kit. Order canceled yet they have not refunded me and sent me another email explaining there would be a further delay…bottom line – not professional and I want to spend my money elsewhere!!!!

Comment by Mike

they never pick up the phone I have been waiting for a reply to my order for 14 days now. DO NOT USE THEM.

Have emailed all addresses as well.

Comment by ed

Eastbrew are nothing but theves! They took my payment instantly only to reply with an email stating that 90% of my order was out of stock. There phone number is never answered and there is no option to leave a message. After dozens of calls and emails received an email comfirmation of an alleged refund of £23.70 i spent £71.40 ! Back to square one now with no replies. I now have my local trading standards on the case. Please Please Please ovoid this sham of a company. can anyone recomend a reliable mail order supply as i am now very weary.

Comment by Adrian Dale

Adrian, I have found that the Hop & Grape are very good. I’ve ordered twice with them, very prompt delivery, and good at letting you know what’s going on (e.g. telephoning to let me know one item will be a couple of days late).

I ordered a corking machine on the 28 Apr 2008. Today is the 21st July 2008 and nothing has arrived. Here’s the story:

1) Placed order, waited, nothing. Rang up and was told the item was out of stock and would be in stock by the following week. Was promised that it would be delivered the following Thursday.

2) Nothing. Waited 2 weeks. Recieved an email saying, again, that the item was out of stock and would be delivered the following Thursday.

3) Nothing. I rang again to explain that I needed the corking machine desperately and that several gallons of well made wine were in danger of being spoiled due to lack of equipment. Yet again they promised.

4) It’s now July, 2 gallons down the drain, I ring again. This time the owner Anette answers. She explains that she’s been ill, that the people who stood in for her were incompetent and that she will do everything she can to have the corking machine delivered to me for the following Thursday. I sympathise and agreed.

5) 2 weeks later, NOTHING. This time I’m absolutely fuming and couldn’t care less. I’m going to ask for a full refund and make damn sure any friends and family who brew their own wine or beer DO NOT USE THIS PATHETIC COMPANY.

It’s not just the lack of service, it’s the bare faced lies that really winds me up.

Comment by Stephen

I’ve had similar problems. Order placed on 29th June, money taken on 1st July. Nothing turned up, now a month on, unable to contact by phone and emails unanswered. I’m contacting trading standards.

Comment by Tim Hunt

My husband placed his order in mid-May with the money taken a couple of days after. We have had nothing delivered. I have telephoned several times and left messages, I have spoken to a gentleman who said most of the items were not in stock and they were awaiting delivery. I spoke with the owner, who didn’t provide her name but promised to deliver part of the order which they had in stock. This never arrived. To date we have been promised return phone calls, which have never arisen. I have emailed several times only to have the emails deleted without being read. My husband has since sent them a formal action email, with still no response.

Having seen this blog I will be contacting trading standards now. It’s not about the £45 it’s the sheer rudeness and the principle.

Comment by Inga Hutton

I’m a customer who uses the shop, so I know Annette. She’s working solo with part-time help and has been ill. This won’t last forever. If time is of the essence take the refund, if not then please don’t let the internet rob you of any sympathy you might have been capable of.

Comment by Mick

Placed an order on the 15th July, money taken a day later. No sign of order or contact from Easybrew. The phone seems to be on permanent answer machine and no response to emails (including one to Annette). I appreciate she may be having problems but a quick call back would help.

Comment by Pete M

Rang Easybrew this morning regarding an order I placed on 5th June and amazingly I got through. I was told they had a delivery on Friday, but the mini-keg system I ordered is expected this Thursday or Friday. Hopefully I will have my order early next week.

Comment by Paul Jacques

I placed my first order with Easybrew on the 9th of July and have received nothing to date. Emailed and called but no reply, next stop trading standards.
I will not use this company again and urge other to do the same.
I when to http://www.brew-it-yourself.co.uk/ to get the stuff and I can recommend Brew it yourself excellent service and a members forum where you can get help to.
Nothing easy about Easybrew..it even put me off my beer.

Comment by Bruce Watt

I too have had problems with easybrew. I placed an order for a starter kit on 6 June and payment was taken that same day, I have never recieved any goods from them. I have emailed several times and called on upwards of twenty occasions. I finally spoke to a woman on one call and was told that the kit was out of stock and she could offer me a refund. I accepted and was told I’d have the refund that day (over 3 weeks ago). Still no joy. After having read all the posts here it seems easybrew do a pretty good line in earing money for nothing. Paul, I would be keen to hear if you ever receive your order (as is seems it was placed around the same time as mine) so that I have an idea of whether they are still trading and if it is likely I will ever recoup my money. Thanks.

Comment by Sarah McQueen

I, like so many of you have had problems with easybrew.Ordered on the 29th July, nearly a month later nothing. Tried phoning no-one answers. same with e-mails. Have requested that my credit card company deals with it. Will contact Trading standards, and threaten legal action if my card company is unsuccessful. Avoid this company like the plague

Comment by Erminia Bissett

Ordered over £70 worth on 23 July – nothing received. As everyone else has said, money taken immediately and now earning interest in their account instead of mine. Now 5 weeks on, 50+ phone calls, half a dozen e-mails – only managed to speak to Annette once who promised delivery last Friday or this Tuesday – surprise, surprise, sod all received. Trading Standards here we come

Comment by K Sturgess

same thing here phoned one hundred times and also emailed twenty times and still no answer to the phone or email. Dond know why anyone can do this to people and at the same time we are talking some one could be ordering goods right now from easybrew. Need to get this website closed down reel soon as ive already lost £70.00 pounds.TRIED TO SYMPYTHISE but no answer back. IT was all the money i had at the time as well so there you go hope you are happy now sleasybrew. davy

Comment by david gibson

all i want back is an answer to the phone or a 7 day refund. please answer me back annette through the phone or email. ive not got alot of money and i thought i would brew some wine for my inlaws as i promised them but i cant now thank you david gibson and thank you for at least one order hope you keep well and for god sake answer your phone at the shop

Comment by david gibson

Ok. she (you) may be ill, and all sympathy etc, but to leave people in the lurch like this and still maintain the site is bad stuff. Its the work of seconds to transfer payments back to the issuing bank, so do it!

Comment by Bob F.

I have been experiencing similar problems with EasyBrew. I placed an order on the 31 July 2008 and have still not received my order. I have tried to contact by phone and email but have not heard a thing back- very unprofessional indeed! I have now contacted Trading Standards 08454040506 to report them (you should do the same). All i wanted to do is buy my boyfriend a wine making kit for his Birthday-can anyone recommend a good company????

Comment by Claire

In Reply to Claire (comment above this one): Sorry to hear of yet another problem with Easybrew. Let us know if Trading Standards take any action.

A good company that I have had dealings with is Hop & Grape. They deliver promptly and communicate any delays (hardly ever!) etc. very quickly.

Comment by Graham Dinsdale

I’m still waiting for an order placed 30 days ago. Had no replys to my emails and the phone is either busy or there is no reply. I will be contacting trading standards, Watchdog, Which, and my solicitor shortly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Comment by Helen

Sorry, but the “she’s been ill” line doesn’t wash with me. People have been reporting problems with orders going back over a year, and yet this company is STILL attempting to trade – my order (in my ignorance of how untrustworthy this company is) was placed six weeks ago. I’ve received nothing, and had the same lack of response when phoning.

If this company can’t fulfil its obligations due to “illness”, then Ms Ferre should have refunded any outstanding orders, then ceased trading until she got her act together. She clearly hasn’t, and has instead continued to take money from unsuspecting customers, while not providing them with the goods. No sympathy coming her way from here.

I’ve contacted trading standards myself – hopefully we can put a stop to this, before too many other people are conned.

Comment by Susan, Glasgow

I finally got a refund only to find the same amount had been taken from my bank account two days after! I am absolutely fuming about this. I shall definitely be contacting everyone I can to expose this company.

Comment by Helen

Place an order with easybrew 28/08/08 they took the money next day no order asked for a refund which arrive in my account 25/09/08 the redebited my account two days later, the police are now involed. DONOT USE THIS COMPANY

Comment by Jeff

Ordered 22 Sept, not received 6 October. Messages sent via email, website contact us form, fax and telephone (no answer) unprofessional and bad manners to ignore all communications. Easybrew will be out of business soon without a doubt. I just hope i get my money back before this happens.

Comment by Nick Moore

This is who Trading Standards, Hants redirects you to when you want to report a trader… http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk

Comment by Helen

Hi;

I see a few of you have had the same probs with EasyBrew that I have had. I had my money refunded then taken off my account again and then told some story about ‘a computer glitch’. Anyway I have started a thread about this at Jim’s Homebrew forum, so please if you can post your messages about refunds here too: http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16407 as I want as many people as possible to avoid this dodgy company.

Comment by EB

Not only did Easybrew take 5 months to resolve my order – the email address I specifically setup to deal with them is now being inundated with phishing scams! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

Comment by Owen

Nearly three weeks and still no order recieve from EasyBrew, canot get through on the phone and no responce to emails…stay clear of this company.

Will be reporting them to TS at the end of the week if it is not resolved.

Comment by Shane

Still no joy with easybrew…have contacted UKFast hosting on 0845 458 4545 they seemed concerned about all the complaints….this company provides the easybrew domain name. will let every one know what they say.

Comment by Shane

Easybrew took £63 off of me 6 weeks ago, no delivery, just given a string of excuse since.

If anyone else is trying a small claim or court action could they let me knwo how to go about it.

If they have problems I am sympathetic but I am unhappy about barefaced repeated lies.

I too seem to have come a cropper here – should have known better and checked them out first. Placed order – nothing happened and no response to phone etc. Went on for a couple of weeks and eventually we got a response saying she had been ill and that if we wanted to cancel she would refund. We said yes. My wife got an email with a different excuse (COMPUTER PROBLEMS!) and again we said thatnks but no thanks. Today I got my delivery but I have already got one from somewhere else! Now they say they will collect and refund but I somehow doubt it will be that easy from easybrew!

Comment by Nick B

I am driving to the address this week end. I think you should do the same. I will be getting my order this week end or my money. Think I will make a day of it. Have some real ale on the way.

Comment by stephen Herbert

Total theives, placed my order and they took money straight away no contact for three weeks then an email saying should get order in a few days, lies, I am yet to recieve my good or a refund. No answer to phone calls or emails.

STAY WELL CLEAR

Comment by lee langridge

I placed an order with Easy Brew on the 24th October – the money came straight out of my account (£65, but I never got any form of confirmation and still have not received the goods.

It’s impossible to get through to them on the phone – a message is left asking you to email support@easybrew.co.uk, to which they’ll reply within 24 hours. I have emailed both this address and Annette Ferre’s personal one every day for over a week now and have no response from either!

I have spoken to my bank and they have agreed to investigate the company on my behalf, and they have agreed to credit my account with the £65 if their findings prove that Easy Brew is failing to deliver the goods it promises.

Comment by Will Steed

I have been waiting 3 months. They are con merchants and i know they are still taking orders. they have 98 quid of mine. How can we stop this bunch of crooks!!!!!!!!
I am going to try watch dog next!

Comment by Nick Chapman

Im fed up to ive been waiting since the 17th of september for £190. A friend of the family is a lawyer, and is coming in tonight, lets see how he gets on!

Comment by Ross Sturgeon

have had the same problems as all of the above tried calling, phone rings but on answer or is engaged, emailed various addresses no reply or contact of any sort, now wish i’d checked them out before giving these crooks 60 quid. has anyone had any success from going to the shop in person?

Comment by Roland Williams

From the Webmaster:

Please DO NOT post personal information regarding the proprietor of Easybrew (Annette Ferre) such as home phone numbers, home addresses, mobile numbers etc. It is unhelpful and does not help you get your money back or your goods delivered!

All such comments will be deleted!

Thanks,

Graham

Believe the company to be insolvent. Have had the same runaround as others. Have contacted Hampshire Trading Standards, and will do so again. I believe it to be fraudulent to advertise goods for sale, and take payment, when the goods do not exist. I imagine her suppliers will not send her goods.
If everyone complains to Hampshire Trading Standards, we can get this crooked outfit closed down.
If you are daft enough to order from this company, use a credit NOT a debit card. I will have to go to the Small Claims Court to recover my money. I, of course, am a mug.

Comment by frank allinson

well as everyone else still waiting, made order on the 6th dec had nothing, spoke to annette and told it was dispached weeks ago,yea right annette! goin down to the shop to meet the lovely lady who cancelled xmas,c u soon

Comment by brian

My husband placed an order in August last year and after being put off about it not being in stock we finally received an email from Annette in September. She said that this was a one-off occurance as she’d been ill but that they had refunded the money. Unfortunately they omitted to say that they’d also taken it out again on the same day. I have sent numerous emails and made phone calls with no joy. The one time I got through in December I was told it was a bank glitch and they thought they’d sorted them all out. She would phone the bank and get back to me. Guess what, I’m still waiting. Now I know I’m not the only one I will get in touch with Trading Standards.

Comment by Jane N

My flat mate placed an order back in early December and hadn’t heard anything he sent an e-mail to them and they replied back twice stating that they had supplier problems that was 2 weeks ago and he hasn’t heard anything since, in the meantime I placed an order and still haven’t received it so I sent them an e-mail on the 19th Jan I didn’t get a reply so today I tried to go back on their website to e-mail them again and you cannot get on it, this is not looking good :(

Comment by Amanda W

i wish i had found this site before i used this company. I ordered beginning of december, they took the money. It didnt arrive in the next few weeks so i called, and called and called. In the end i ordered the same this from another company which came a couple of days after i ordered it. The item from Easy brew turned up the day after. I sent it back at my own expense, and thats the last i heard.
Has anyone had any luck with trading standards?

Comment by Clair Pepper

i can recommend a great comapany http://www.homebrewcentregy.com

Comment by Clair Pepper

i dont know if anyone has looked at any other forums but it looks like they have set up a new website http://www.homebrewingandwinemaking.co.uk
The address and everything is the same!

Comment by Clair Pepper

They’ve had to change their website address becasue their web services provider refused to renew their contract becuase they didn’t want to be associated with Easybrew due to THIS thread of complaints.

Thanks for doing this forum its been a great help and source of encouragement. We placed an order in October 08 for goods to the value of £181 its now 8 months later and still no goods and no refund! Emailed Annette Ferre after seeing your site and recieved an encouraging email in Nov 08 but still nothing and all emails since have been ignored. Have reported it to trading standards and are now taking it up with the credit card company. These people are crooks and need prosecuting!
